Star Trek Movies Collection
Review of Star Trek - The Film Collection (The Motion Picture-Nemesis) by
Fussells4
Advantages: Every Star Trek Movie, in one Handy Box
Disadvantages: There aren't enough hours in a day!
If you love Star Trek, these are definitely for you!
This is every movie ever made, okay thats only ten, but still thats impressive.
The packaging is brilliant, it is a box within a box, with two Holders within that, which spread out and hold five movies.
There are five original movies, and five of the next generation movies. In total they make 1101 minutes (I make that about 18 hours 30 mins) of pure star Trek excellence. The ratings of the movies ... ...you havent seen them.
STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE
Produced 1979, Directed by Robert Wise
This is the first movie. Star Trek was going down hill, and was switched off air, so to get back in the swing, they launched this movie, which all of a sudden created an explosion of Star Trek fans, which was good for us, as it also encouraged them to make more movies! The only disappointing thing about it, is there is no special features or anything, you ...

Advantages: Odd number - Good film!!!

...I thought I would give Star Trek another review, so here goes. Please make yourself, comfortable, mobiles off and relax….
Star Trek III - The Search for Spock is one of those films that you see the characters in a different light. The film itself was released back in 1984. Leonard Nimoy who had been killed off at the end of the previous movie was hired to direct this one.
This is what the 2 disc set contains….

Generations
Review of Star Trek - Generations DVD by
phurren2006
Advantages: Kirk returns
Disadvantages: Spock and McCoy don't return
...the sixth film in the Star Trek series being the last shout for the original Enterprise crew ('The Undiscovered Country'), Paramount Pictures decided to go in a different direction for the seventh film, STAR TREK: GENERATIONS. The TV show STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION had been highly successful with both audiences and critics, but had recently come to the end of its 7-year run, and it was decided that it was time to transfer this success to the ... ...deadly plan to destroy entire star systems in order to secure his place in 'the nexus', where he can live an immortal, fulfilled life. It is of course up to Picard and Kirk, who has survived into Picard's time through a fluky plot device, to stop Soren. This they manage to do, but the film does end with a tragedy, which I won't spoil here.
The film is enjoyable, although it does feel very much like the 'transition' movie that it is. It hands over ...

...and now a word from William Shatner...
Review of Star Trek 5 : The Final Frontier DVD by
phurren2006
Advantages: All of the regular cast return
Disadvantages: Erm, everything else
...1988:
"I'm fed up. Star Trek was meant to be MY series, MINE. I was the star. First billed. I was the one who was meant to get all of the girls and who the series was meant to be based around. But instead that SOB Leonard Nimoy got too much credit. Just for sticking on some pointy ears and pretending to have no emotions. When the show finished he got straight onto a starring role on Mission Impossible, and I got to do hardly anything and even had ... ...effects and bad effects. It's Star Trek - they'll come anyway.
"What? You'll only let me direct 1 film? But Nimoy directed 2. It's not fair. I'm going to throw a tantrum. Oh, it's not going to work? OK then, I'll just make a rubbish movie, that'll show you..."
...and so he did. ...

Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Review of Star Trek - The Motion Picture DVD by
phurren2006
Advantages: The entire main cast from the TV show return
Disadvantages: It is very slow
...INTRODUCTION
----------------
Released in 1979, STAR TREK - THE MOTION PICTURE is a sequel to the 1960s television show STAR TREK. The franchise had suffered the ignominy of an animated series in the mid-1970s, which is in fact regarded quite highly amongst aficionados, but this film really kickstarted the STAR TREK franchise, leading to a further 9 films with yet another currently being made, and another four TV series to date. The STAR TREK saga ... ...as the second film - STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN - as you will see if you read my upcoming review on that movie!)
----------------
THE PLOT
----------------
Admiral James T. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise enter the enormous constructions surrounding V'Ger, an incredibly powerful being that is on a very destructive course through Starfleet space, heading towards the planet Earth. Kirk has a new First Officer (Decker, played by Stephen ...
