Stargate goes full circle and revists the pilot episode
Advantages: new special effects, new soundtrack, presented as a feature film
Disadvantages: important plot point removed
...I do wonder. When the Stargate movie came out it was an instant favourite of mine - it combined my love of ancient history (especially Egyptian mythology) with some great science fiction and plenty of military action. Perfect. Three years later speculation of whether they got home at the end of the film was confirmed as a TV series was produced with the first feature length pilot episode being titled "Children of the Gods" and once more they continued ...
...10 years of SG-1 TV episodes and two straight-to-DVD movies (so far) they decided to revisit the "Children of the Gods" story to recut it to produce a "tighter" story with some unused footage also included, redone CGI shots, and a brand new score which was no longer borrowed from the movie. Stargate Continuum
Advantages: Great movie, wraps up the Goa'uld storyline
Disadvantages: Not for everyone
Stargate Continuum is the latest Stargate movie. Its basically a stand alone movie, but for full enjoyment some background knowledge of Stargate SG1 the series is necessary. For those that havent seen Stargate SG1 there will be parts that will be confusing.
Basically the plot is; SG1 are overseeing the removal of the Goa'ual Ba'al by the Tok'ra, when Ba'al, Teal'c and Vala disappear. Leaving Daniel, Sam and Mitchell to find out what happened and ...
...Prime. For Stargate fans such as myself it rounds off the story of the Goa'uld which was left floating in the wind after Stargate SG1 was suddenly cancelled by the Sci Fi channel. It also sees the much loved Don S Davis resurrect his role of General George Hammond, a bonus for any Stargate fan.
The action is perfectly paced, not too fast that none Stargate fans wouldnt be able to keep up, and not so slow that it ever becomes boring.

Stargate SG1 Series 1-10 plus The Ark of Truth
Advantages: Incredible value, great for any fan of the series
Disadvantages: Lacks the special extras you may find in a specially created boxset

As mentioned above, this is really just a collation of all of the individual boxsets that you can already buy in the shops, and so there are none of the special extras that you may expect to find where the boxset has been created ...

Advantages: Great special effects

Stargate The Ark Of Truth
This was a trully amazing film. Even though Stargate SG1 is over, the films are just as good. Samantha, Teal'C, Vala, Cameron and Tomin venture deep into the Ori galaxy to find a weapon. They Won't Let You Remember
Advantages: Funny, memorable, doesn't get old
Disadvantages: Don't think there are any...
...Rumour has it that the Men in Black do actually exist, but that in reality what they do is visit people who have reported sightings of UFOs and potential alien things, and "encourage" them to keep it to themselves. This could mean they are not such nice people, and may use threatening or even violent tactics to achieve their goals. Of course, whether or not this is true, I don't know. ..."Forget-me-nots" song, "Here come the Men in Black"? It certainly went down well at its time of release, even if it was not to be a long lasting song. The soundtrack is generally quite good and still sounds new, even after how many years? 12? I think this is meant to be a cool film, and one that people remember, and in that it has been a success.

Definitely worth a watch, especially if you're into either sci-fis, comedies, or both. Since ...
