X-Men Advantages: A very good movie Disadvantages: none ...idea of humans evolving into X-men is not, certainly, an unrealistic one, given the fact that we humans do have a long history of evolution. The movie starts by bringing us back to the Holocaust era, when Magneto first shows us a first hint of his powers, of his capacities to manipulate metals. X-Men 2 (DVD And Fantastic Four Jonny Storm Watch Advantages: Better action than some with story line Disadvantages: slow in parts If you love the first X-MEN then X-MEN2 is a must have, with less story building than the first this film has a lot more action - packed fun for all to love. There are a few slow parts in the film but overall its a must. the charachters realy start to evolve and if you were a fan of the cartoon then the end makes a lot more to you than if you just watch the film. Although you are left felling that they could have done more. E.g. Magneto (Lan Mckellen) ... ...four is again much like X-men 1 you have to wait for the best bits as the story building takes its time however its much more for the younger audience with its light humor and slightly cheesy punchlines however it is quit a good film for kids as it does not require you to concerntrate to long and if you miss bits of the film you can catch up with the plot later. Good and Evil fighting side by side Advantages: Excellent acting by Hugh Jackman and Alan Cumming Disadvantages: Unrealistic storyline (even for a comic book adaptation) ...and directed by Bryan Singer X-Men 2 is the follow up to the hugely successful X-men, released back in May 2003. Plot Just as the dust had settled and things were getting back to normal, Whitehouse security is breached and there is an unsuccessful assassination attempt on the President of the USA (Cotter Smith) by a mutant that goes by the name of “Nightcrawler” (Alan Cumming). The failed attempt naturally makes the headlines resulting in a ... ...a lot more violent in X-Men 2 than X-men 1, which is a good thing. It seems that Jackman can do no wrong in his role but then Wolverine is a crowd favourite and it is always difficult to criticise your favourites. That said, Alan Cumming is also particularly good as Nightcrawler. There is also plenty of eye candy, which also helps to keep the audience interested. Aliens go to the top of the class! Advantages: A brilliant alien edgy feel to the film Disadvantages: Surely...someone would have gone for help! The faculty is a good example of a late 1990's teenage horror sci fi flick...milder than the Scream films it focusses on the takeover of a school by aliens who take over people in a gruesome way (and without wishing to spoil it...it is worth waiting to see it!). One of the main strengths in the film is that initially you do not really know who has been taken over by the aliens... simply because it is set in a school and teachers are generally just ... ...what is happening, but obviously the aliens being clever little blighters have infiltrated all the right people... The group of teenagers soon realise what they have to do to save everyone and have to confront possibly the biggest and ugliest thing you will ever see. It is great, well made with CGI and puppetry work and in terms of cinematic monsters...its a gem! There are some highly memorable scenes in this film. Better than the first? Advantages: Good Performances from cast. Good Script. Disadvantages: Drags quite a bit. X-men 2 (X2) Director: Bryan Singer Release Date: 2003 Runtime: 133 mins Approx Plot After the events at the end of the first movie, Magneto is still locked inside his plastic prison, and is deemed secure. However after a a attack on the United States President by an assassin mutant, once again leaves the humans mistrusting the Mutants. General William Stryker, goes to extreme lengths to eradicate all mutants, by breaking into the Proffessor ... ...the rest of the X-men are away searching for the assassin who attacked the President. After Magneto escapes from his prison, he temporarily teams up with the X-men to stop Stryker from wiping out the entire mutant population. My Opinion. I saw this when it was first released at the cinema, and the beggining part with Nightcrawler trying to reach the president while fighting off his body guards, was at the time a extremely good opener. ...
