Atlantis shaped goodness

Advantages: Some good stories, continuing a great series
Disadvantages: special effects went downhill a little

...SOMEWHERE) For all those Stargate SG1 fans (and I know you are out there) this season starts linking into whats happening in SG1. I quite enjoyed this, but then I've seen all the Stargate SG1 episodes so I knew what they were all talking about. For anyone who hasn't seen SG1 (or at least the season its linked into) there are times where it might not make as much sense as it should. Its ok though, you'd get by fine with just a small sense of confusion ...
...bit more observant when it came to the similarities between SG1 and Atlantis, infact at times they pretty much refer to the "missions" SG1 went on that were simmilar to the situation they were in. A little bit of sneaky story recycling at times. The end of the season Finale (as great as it is) is a well used favourite. The bad guys come to earth. Oh crap. Atlantis Season 2 - When it really takes off

Advantages: Really building on the first season
Disadvantages: Will still need to own season 1 to understand everything

Season 2 of Atlantis really did move the show into great sci-fi. The addition of Ronan to the cast was a much needed move. Ford in the first season was an ok character but I never really felt that he was interesting enough to be more than a recurring guest star. I think the writing on the show got better over the second season with some great episodes and drama/comedy. The acting is brilliant, with all the characters managing to become deeper along ...
...Atlantis got its own in-house special effects for season 2 and you can really notice the difference. They really take the CGI up a notch in season 2 with some amazing space battles. The introduction of the Earth ship Daedalus really gives them a chance to show more aswell instead of last seasons puddle jumper shots. You Look Like a Radioactive Tampon

Advantages: Great Direction and Acting
Disadvantages: Too Slow for some
