The movie centres around the discovery of what they call the Stargate. The Stargate is a huge ring with nine pretty little pictures on it. Stargate SG-1 expands on the idea that life on earth was not started here. It was, in fact, brought here by an extremely advanced alien race. This race happened to be a tad on the evil side and used humans as slaves and carriers for their young (slithery snake type things) as was touched on in the movie. The Cube trilogy, like the above a more intriguing angle on the topic, is something that I have been aware of for a while but have yet to see any for rent, only Blockbusters policy of buying old DVDs from customers finally uncovering one. Stargate SG1 Series 1-10 plus The Ark of Truth Advantages: Incredible value, great for any fan of the series Disadvantages: Lacks the special extras you may find in a specially created boxset Stargate is a 10-series TV programme based on the 1994 film of the same name. It tells the story of a device found in Egypt which allows instananeous transportation from Earth to a network of planets across the galaxy. You Look Like a Radioactive Tampon Advantages: Great Direction and Acting Disadvantages: Too Slow for some Moon reminds me a lot of those big weighty Sci-fi films of the seventies where it was all about atmosphere, storyline and your imagination rather than riotous special effects and wise cracking aliens. This film is utterly beguiling, its tense but strangely relaxing, all of these is down to two men, the director Duncan Jones and the star Sam Rockwell.
