FANTASTIC!

Advantages: Brilliant stories, fantastic acting.
Disadvantages: Cutdown confidentials instead of full episode

The first series of Doctor Who I saw was series 4. I thought it was brilliant and instantly loved it so obviously wanted to watch the rest of the series to see what other amazing stories there were. To describe the First SEries in one word I would have to say it was FANTASTIC! Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor is brilliant and Billie Piper as his companion Rose means there's lots of laughs along the way too. In the first episode ROSE the Doctor ...
...life and travel with the Doctor in his TARDIS. In the second episode THE END OF THE WORLD they travel to platform one to see the end of Earth. There are loads of different aliens on board and some robot spiders which are trying to destroy the ship they are on and kill everyone. In the third episode THE UNQUIET DEAD the Doctor takes Rose to Cardiff in 1869 by mistake and they meet Charles Dickens. They also meet a new alien race the Gelth who lost ...

...home for Christmas, but The Doctor is still recovering from his latest regeneration and looks to spending this holiday in a coma. It's up to Rose, Jackie, and Mickey to keep him safe until he recovers. Any easy task... until the Sycorax arrive on earth and hold one third of the world's population hostage! It's a "Christmas Invasion", but will the Doctor recover in time to act once more as the Earth's Champion? Favorite quote: "Ahh, not bad for a ...
...a nice man." ~ The Doctor Season two of Doctor Who unwraps itself with like a Christmas cracker... a bit of noise and flash to celebrate some simple fun. Throughout the season, we see Rose coming to terms with some of the less pleasant aspects of time traveling with the Doctor, and their friendship strengthen. This incarnation of the Doctor seems generally happier than the one we were originally introduced to in the first season, and we get the sense ...

New series, new Doctor!

Advantages: Great regeneration
Disadvantages: None really

...Eccleston left the role of Doctor Who, many were disappointed as he had sparked the new age of Doctor Who, and it seemed as if he was the answer to keeping the show going. However, up stepped David Tennant at the end of the final episode of the first series, and it is here that he gets his teeth stuck into the role. Having watched the first series in a relatively short space of time (1 week!), I found myself very much intuned with Eccleston in the ...

The Episodes The Christmas Invasion This feature length episode is designed to introduce Tennant as the new face of the Doctor. As a strange race called the Sycorax surrounds the Earth, threatening to take over, the Doctor'd companion Rose ...

...is capable of as the Doctor in his first two episodes, he jumps straight in as if it had been him all along in the following episodes. In fact, this is technically true of the character, as the Doctor is the same person with regeneration giving him a different outlook. The three episodes in this DVD have many 'in' jokes and moments that many might not get. I watched them with my wife, who has seen them all before and has just recently finished watching ...
