Review of Independence Day (DVD)

Touching romance and gruesome effects

Advantages: The relationship between Seth and Veronica, the gruesome effects.
Disadvantages: It does look aged now - you can't avoid that.

The Fly is a remake of a 50s B-movie which involves a teleportation experiment gone wrong. Somehow a fly gets trapped in the machine with the poor scientist, Seth (played by Goldblum). The after effects have him marvelling in some new-found powers but, far from Spiderman-like transformation, little does he know he's slowly and grotesquely turning into a monster rather than some superpowered hero. ...me about this film was the relationship between Seth, the scientist and Veronica, the journalist. It was actually quite touching. In some way I can see such deterioration of a man having some metaphorical significance in the real world outwith B-movie horror. Forgive me if you hate the comparison, but a lot of couples see their other half deteriorate due to diseases of the body and mind and it must be quite heartbreaking. Not that I am suggesting ...

Don't Fall Asleep

Advantages: Tense, Dark, Great performances, Excellent ending
Disadvantages: Can’t think of any

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) Invasion of the Body Snatchers was one of the first truly successful B movie remakes. The original was done in 1956 under the same name, followed by this, and then retold in the1993 film Body Snatchers. Of the three films this is the only one you need to see. It is taken from the original Jack Finney novel and written for the screen by WD Richter. The title basically gives away the whole plot in an instant. ...

Will Smith - Box Set

Advantages: 3 amazing films.
Disadvantages: none.

Will Smith has to be one of the most talented men on earth. He can sing, dance and act, brilliantly. Will Smith developed his acting career with 'Fresh Prince of Bellair' and from that he grew and grew. This box set is really good for it's price and Will Smith makes that price the more better. I robot is an action-packed film which is briefly about robots taking over the world. The robots are meant to be wonderful inventions and never able to harm ...

Review of I, Robot/Minority Report/Independence Day (Box Set) (DVD)

The Good and Bad of I Robot

Advantages: Entertains
Disadvantages: Does get abit boring in some places

What I personally enjoyed about I Robot is the opening seen of Will Smith in the shower, but I would. Throughout this film I thought that Will Smiths (Detective Del Spooner) performance was excellent, along with supporting actress Bridget Moynahan (Dr. Susan Calvin) just made the film. Both their performances complimented each other. The special effects all the way through this film are phenomenal, they are so realistic and very imaginative, companied ...
...just makes the film so individual and entertaning, it is a must see movie. The only problem that I found within all the special effects, characters and of course the classic sound track (with songs by people you will know who ever you are) is that its a film where you cannot watch it over and over again in a short period of time, you do have to leave it for a couple months before you can rewatch it and not get destracted by anything else.
