Advantages: Great use of a crazy imagination! Very funny!

...by some. Slightly out of the ordinary. Personally though... it had me in creases of laughter, and has become a personal favourite! The film is about a Baron. The Baron. The Baron Munchausen. The Baron is considered as a fictional character, who has several friends with exceptional abilities, such as strength, sight, hearing etc. A play cast are half way through a performance of his adventures when the real Baron turns up and relates his own account ...
...in places such as on the moon (which they fall off), with Vulcan the God (who's wife the Baron seduces), and in the middle of a full scale war, defending a city. The cast stars Eric Idle, who was made popular mainly by the "Monty Python" series, but he has also starred in several other comedy films, giving them the finishing flourish they need, and this is certainly true of "The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen". With more adventerous storylines and sharper writing this show really comes into its own. ...onto a ledge where an alien just was, even if she is hanging over a chasm? From certain death into certain death? Why when the 1st alien is speared by the girl does it not attack with it's arms at all? Why when the predator cuts the aliens head off his knife doesn't melt? Likewise with blades of spinner on facehugger? How come Millar seems to lose his Scottish accent just before he dies? The Queen is bitten multiple times but is fit to go on a rampage? ...
...all? Why are there so many Aliens? Only 8 people are facehugged! When the bomb is detonated how come there seem to be about 20 aliens in the main chamber as they board the sled? Clearly this film was not researched at all. Aliens and Predator fans will be picking holes in it for years to come. As for the pred-alien at the end? Advantages: Retro Galactica
Disadvantages: uhm Retro Galactica

...get attacked and only one battlestar (a warship) called Galactica is left in the whole fleet. The Cylons also attack all the human worlds meaning. The survivors are then left struggling and form a fleet of ships and flee into exile in search of the planet Earth, where the 13th tribe settled. The first 10 episodes keep to the plot, with state of the art special effects for TV at the time. The series ran out of money so special effects or costumes ...
...becomes more and more absurd towards the end of the series in an effort to keep going without backing. There are no special features at all on this other than still photos. It is a basic DVD transfer, which for me is all I want.
