The Fifth Element review
Advantages: Good story, wacky costumes, gorgeous visuals Disadvantages: None
The Fifth Element is a sci-fi fantasy action film written and directed by Luc Besson (who also directed Leon) and stars Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm and Milla Jovovich.
Set 300 years in the future, cab driver and former special forces soldier Korben Dallas (Willis) is going about his day when a woman comes crashing through the roof of his taxi and asks for help. He obliges, and loses the heat that were following her. He soon finds out that ... ...been sent here to save the universe.
Every 5000 years, when the planets are in alignment, a great evil appears, and will kill every living thing it comes across. So the fifth element, along with the other four elements (which are stones with lines carved into them) have to travel to a special site in Egypt which focuses their power and turns the fifth element into a very powerful weapon. If the evil gets there before them, light will turn to dark, ...

Outstanding
Advantages: Amazing attention to detail in the game. Disadvantages: n/a
...wouldn't even change those. The final epic fight between Cloud and a rememnent taking the form of sepheroth was absolutely outstanding. I was extatic throughout the entire movie. The storyline was wiked and closely follwed that of the game itself. Reno's appearence in the movie was one of a kind. This is a must watch film. ...

ff spirits within
Advantages: great is you love the game Disadvantages: dont know
Final Fantasy... It's hard to compare this movie to others cus it's just not the same. The story starts off with a dream that Dr. Aki Ross, the main character, has apparently been having a lot lately. The earth is being invaded by some aliens that are invisible, unless viewed with special devices. She lands in old New York, where it seems that the aliens have succeeded in destroying everything and everone. She is searching for something, when suddenly, ... ...to arrest her. (I'm not going to say any more cus I might ruin the story.) The story, while having the potential to be really good, is well..., incomplete. They don't go into detail about how the enemy landed, what it was like before they did, and what happend right after they did. They start the story at the point where the earth is doomed and everyone is in shelter cities, just waiting to die. The end was also kinda incomplete, because they don't ...

Touching romance and gruesome effects
Advantages: The relationship between Seth and Veronica, the gruesome effects. Disadvantages: It does look aged now - you can't avoid that.
The Fly is a remake of a 50s B-movie which involves a teleportation experiment gone wrong. Somehow a fly gets trapped in the machine with the poor scientist, Seth (played by Goldblum). The after effects have him marvelling in some new-found powers but, far from Spiderman-like transformation, little does he know he's slowly and grotesquely turning into a monster rather than some superpowered hero.
This film largely surprised me. It has definitely ... ...me about this film was the relationship between Seth, the scientist and Veronica, the journalist. It was actually quite touching. In some way I can see such deterioration of a man having some metaphorical significance in the real world outwith B-movie horror. Forgive me if you hate the comparison, but a lot of couples see their other half deteriorate due to diseases of the body and mind and it must be quite heartbreaking. Not that I am suggesting ...

Fantastically lags story wise
Advantages: Some good special effects and CGI Disadvantages: Too slow, not enough of a story, lost interest before the end
...was one that featured a Fantastic 4 cartoon, so I was somewhat familiar with the characters and I do like a good fantasy type movie every now and then, so I thought I'd give this a watch. I'm glad I didn't purchase the DVD, it wouldn't have been worth it. - Main Credits (non-actors, which are mentioned further on in the review) -
