The Fifth Element review
Advantages: Good story, wacky costumes, gorgeous visuals

The Fifth Element is a sci-fi fantasy action film written and directed by Luc Besson (who also directed Leon) and stars Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm and Milla Jovovich.

This should be Lost in Space!
Advantages: Plot twist, special effects, Gary Oldman
Disadvantages: Everything else
...up into space and got lost (funny that, the title kind of gives it away!). So, when they made the decision to remake the series into a film, giving it a futuristic overhaul, I was really excited. The film was released in 1998, and its running time is 130 minutes.

The fifth elephant.
Advantages: fast, and funny.
Disadvantages: a wee bit dated

Epiphanies are just the start!
Advantages: One of THE best shows on television
Disadvantages: This series is to be short-lived so get into it while you can!
...newly re-imagined phenomenon that is Battlestar Galactica will no longer be in production. Alas, series four will be the final season and how it ends the saga is anyone's guess.
But after a stunning first year that broke preconceptions and cynics alike, this second season leaves nothing to the imagination as viewers can't seem to get enough BSG! After the insane ending to the first year - a cliff-hanger that stunned so many people, series two picks ...
...with the arrival of the Battlestar Pegasus, this time helmed by the ruthless Admiral Cain, (played extremely well by former Star Trek regular Michelle Forbes), a mad woman who outranks Adama and threatens the safety of the entire fleet.
The DVD box set contains a special, not broadcast, extended version of the episode "Pegasus" that is essential viewing for all the extra wonderful elements left out of the original broadcast.
The only real let-down ...

Battlestar Galactica - A girl's view
Advantages: Characters, addictive and gripping plot....well, everything really.
Disadvantages: Addictive, therefore very time-consuming
...was recently coerced into watching Battlestar Galactica by my 'other half' who insisted that I would love it, despite my misgivings. Please bear in mind that I have not seen, nor do I know anything about, the original 1970s series of the same name, so this will not in any way be a comparison, simply a review of this series in its own right.
