They mostly come out at night..... Mostly.
Advantages: Great story, and sooo atmospheric Disadvantages: none, not even to this day.
...original. Personally I think that Aliens is in this category. Now, I agree this is an outlandish claim. Ridley Scott's original Alien, is potentially one of the most atmospheric, and terrifying films of all time. In its time, it was perfect. The effects were great, and the performances exceptional. I believe that if I had of been writing this review ten years ago, then Alien would win hands down, but in today's market the award must go to the original's ... ...that has come out recently, Aliens is as enjoyable to watch now, as it was on its general release in 1986. The film was directed by James Cameron, who as we all know is one for creating a spetacle. His direction to the film is in stark contrast to Scott's original. Where Scott went for raw science fiction, and horror, Cameron has created a rip-roaring action adventure. I think it is plain to see that Cameron was heavily influenced by the recent success ...

The definitive Alien collection
Advantages: Original and director's cut edition, flawless transfer, every extra you could want Disadvantages: None
Of all movie monsters, the Alien has to be my favourite and this box set is an esential for anyone who has seen and loved any or all of the four pure Alien movies (dsicounting the Alien/ Predator crossover genre).
Having been old enough to have seen the original Alien at the cinema I was pleased that the box set includes the original as well as the new updated and reditied versions of all four of the movies. There are also extras beyond belief and ... ...movies fear not. The redited Alien for example was lovingly crafted by original director Ridley Scott who correctly recognised that a modern cinema audience would find the original somewhat slow paced in places. He has also skillfully added back scenes removed from the original release which, on viewing, are essential to the plot and reveal new charater nuances and tensions that seemed strange and unexplained previously.
This set was expensive when ...

Lock N Load
Advantages: Superior release compared to previous editions Disadvantages: None
...one a lavish look.
Aliens is the 1986 sequel, to Ridley Scott’s Alien; this time with Terminator director James Cameron at the helm. The last remaining crew member of the Nostromo flies into earth territory the first time in a great many years. Having been awoken by a rescue crew they must get to grips with the fact that they have been travelling for far too long, and that everyone they knew including their family are all dead.
Knowing this remaining ... ...Although I enjoy Aliens immensely, for me it does not have the depth that the original movie had; relying more on the action, than the horror or the psychological feel of being alone in space. It’s a much larger effort, with gigantic sets, and breathtaking special effects. At times however the alien effects fail where there are so many aliens you can quite often look at some of them and say “that’s just a guy in an alien suit”. From a very claustrophobic ...

"Who am I?" The Matrix missing parts
Advantages: best possible content that goes along with Matrix, quality and variety of styles Disadvantages: are there any ?
...hands on this project was the best possible thing it could happen with ideas of Matrix :) The movie consists of nine short stories, each telling a different story, but all are more or less related to scenes for the motion picture. Final Flight of the Osiris is a development from Square Co., creators of series of fantasy games as well as two computer graphic motion pictures, which this episode is itself. It made a great impression on me, back in ... ...you in the centre of the action. This one follows with two parts of The Second Renaissance and if you think that Matrix is thought provoking, you need to see these both parts, which fills in the missing parts from the motion picture of how system was created. Kid's Story explains where this young lad following Neo everywhere in Matrix: Revolutions came from. Program is another variation based in the world of cyber illusion and this story ...

Touching romance and gruesome effects
Advantages: The relationship between Seth and Veronica, the gruesome effects. Disadvantages: It does look aged now - you can't avoid that.
The Fly is a remake of a 50s B-movie which involves a teleportation experiment gone wrong. Somehow a fly gets trapped in the machine with the poor scientist, Seth (played by Goldblum). The after effects have him marvelling in some new-found powers but, far from Spiderman-like transformation, little does he know he's slowly and grotesquely turning into a monster rather than some superpowered hero.
This film largely surprised me. It has definitely ... ...me about this film was the relationship between Seth, the scientist and Veronica, the journalist. It was actually quite touching. In some way I can see such deterioration of a man having some metaphorical significance in the real world outwith B-movie horror. Forgive me if you hate the comparison, but a lot of couples see their other half deteriorate due to diseases of the body and mind and it must be quite heartbreaking. Not that I am suggesting ...
