Is Spock Cesc Fabregas?
Advantages: Big screen treat Disadvantages: Not for DVD
...player, also the case with Star Trek, and unless you have a huge TV or Blue-Ray then the modern action movie suffers in translation. Star Trek is quite simply one of those big budget movies you have to see at the cinema to get any real buzz from it, director JJ Abrahams all about movies that enjoy using the entire screen space. It's all very frustrating wandering what you can't see in the top left hand corner of your wide-screen DVD screen that the ... ...a bar hitting on female Star Fleet cadets after dropping out of Star Fleet officer school, taking a shine to sexy young communications officer Uhura (Zoë Saldana), a fist fight soon ensuing. But he's soon talked around to mend his ways and on the next shuttle up to Starfleet head quarters, Capt. Christopher Pike (Bruce Greenwood), a friend of his father, his new mentor. The concurrent storyline is that of Nero (Eric Bana), the captain of a Romulan ...

Star Trek But Not as We Know It - Could it be better!?
Advantages: Up to date, story, excellent acting and special effects. Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
...you are a fan of Star Trek, then you would love this latest film from Director J.J. Abrams, also responsible for television series such as Alias and Lost and feature films such as Mission Impossible III. This film takes us all the way back to the beginning, back to the birth of Captain T. Kirk [Chris Pine] in an escape pod from the USS Kelvin during a ferocious battle in which his father, George Kirk, like all true captains sacrifices his life with ... ...Pike persuades him to join Star Fleet and do something with his life. The film then jumps to the planet Vulcan where we witness the early life of Spock, excellently played by Zachary Quinto - also known for his part as Silar in the television series, Heroes. The story shows Spock wrestling with his half-human side, trying to subdue it by throwing himself into his studies on Vulcan logic. Because of his half-humanness, he gets taunted and bullied ...

In ROTF, the robots are much, much bigger.
Advantages: funny, exciting, great effects, good story, good acting, fast paced Disadvantages: too much crude humour, slightly abrupt endings for some scenes
...was expecting a lot from Transformers 2. Knowing Bay and Spielberg, I knew that they would give us a sequel with 10 times more stunts and effects than the first one. Unfortunately, they slightly over did it. Revenge of The Fallen follows the events of the original Transformers movie about a normal teenage boy, Sam, being chosen to help the Autobots defend Earth and defeat the Deceptagons. The film starts off with a brilliant scene showing Wheelie, ... ...city. A noticeable difference between the two movies is the size of the transformers. In ROTF, the robots are much, much bigger. This is best near the end of the movie when a enormous robot is generated from other robots. Sometimes in the many fights between the two types of transformer it gets confusing to tell the difference between them as their colours blend in. This is not a major problem due to terrific autobot voice acting. So, the effects ...

Who needs Guantanamo Bay. Check this out Obama!
Advantages: Interesting sci-fi Disadvantages: Perhaps the acting
...quite enjoyed ‘Event Horizon’. The Cube trilogy, like the above a more intriguing angle on the topic, is something that I have been aware of for a while but have yet to see any for rent, only Blockbusters policy of buying old DVDs from customers finally uncovering one. I think mobile phones and bad acting have destroyed the notion of ever seeing a decent horror movie era again-the internet providing far worse for people who really want to be shocked-and ... ...best way forward. Darker and yet funnier than the previous films.
Advantages: Amazing special effects. Excellent acting. Disadvantages: Unfaithful to the book in parts.
...film in its own right Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is one of my favourites of the series so far. This film is much darker than the others, the wizarding world has now admitted that Voldemort is back and Harry has to realise his ties with Voldemort more than ever before. Despite being a much darker film it is also more comedic than many of the others. The strong theme of romance and various different love stories give the film much needed ... ...are hilarious. The acting is of an excellent standard and Jim Broadment makes a welcome addition to the cast as Professor Slughorn. This film contains less action than many of the others, largely to focus upon the storyline and retell the wealth of information revealed in this book. In order to create more action there are several scenes in the film which do not appear in the book. Some I think work well (the dementors destroying the millenium bridge ...
