Talons of Weng-Chiang
Review of Doctor Who - The Talons Of Weng Chiang DVD by
phurren2006
Advantages: Tom Baker as The Doctor
Disadvantages: None
...The plot has The Doctor and Leela appearing in London in 1888 and getting involved in the investigation of the murder of a cabby and the disappearance of some girls. This leads to giant rats, and a time-travelling war criminal, in a way which would only seem right in Doctor Who!
One of my favourite aspects of this story is gothic nature of the story, which is clearly inspired by the stories of Fu Manchu by Sax Rohmer. This story is one of those ... ...series. It is available from Amazon UK for less than £9.

Evil Brig RULES!
Review of Doctor Who - Inferno DVD by
atytyut2434
Advantages: Evil Brig!
Disadvantages: Standard 70's BBC special effects
...is pretty bonkers but The Doctor manages to transport himself to a parallel Earth where everything is different & everyone he knows and trusts are so different from his own Universes counterparts.
I think the best thing about this story is how evil Nick Courtney manages to play without seeming too over the top. The special effects are rubbish but you get John Pertwee at his best, a Tardis that can't be used as this is part of the "confined to Earth ...

Bats, Busoms & A dying Timelord
Review of Doctor Who - The Caves Of Androzani DVD by
atytyut2434
Advantages: Peri!
Disadvantages: A weird villain
...the story where Peter Davison's Doctor finally hangs up his sonic screwdriver after his time at the helm of the Tardis.
Off to a planet where there are drugs, bats & a madman. You won't notice this if your male as you will most likely spend a lot of this story watching Peri (played blindingly well by the stunningly lovely Nicola Bryant who I was passionately in love with) and her amazing cleavage and tight fitting outfits.
Peter has a great death ... ...as she leans over the Doctor as he's dying. Watch it with the commntary on and everyone mentions it! The story isn't brilliant, the characters aren't brilliant but it's classic Doctor Who and you can never expect to much from it.
Be happy you have Nicola Bryant and her amazing busom to watch if your a guy. Enjoy Peter Davison's performance if your a lady. ...

The Doctor saves the day again!
Review of Doctor Who: The Invasion DVD by
MEISTER123
Advantages: Classic story, wonderfully acted.
Disadvantages: Dodgy 60's catsuit!
...all the elements of a Doctor Who legend, Unit, Cybermen and the Doctor (Patrick Troughton) in sparkling form. A very good storyline, well acted and with a good menacing soundtrack, but like so many stories in the 60's, a little too long. This doesn't deter too much from the fact that we are seeing Troughton at is best as the Doctor and Jamie, (Frazer Hines), is also on top form. Zoe, was just a woman in a catsuit really!
The story itself centres ... ...supplier of electronic equipment. The Doctor is forced to team up with UNIT, headed by the recently promoted Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge Stewart to thwart the invasion.
This was one of the stories which unfortunatley is not complete, as episodes 1 and 4 are missing. These have been beautifully rendered in cartoon form and add to the timielessness of the story.
Once again, this DVD does not disapoint in the extras department, as not only is there ...

How Many Killings?
Review of Doctor Who - Resurrection Of The Daleks DVD by
Frankingsteins
Advantages: Again, again with the Daleks. You may be a fan.
Disadvantages: A disappointing confrontation for Davison's Doctor.
...his departure. After Tom Baker's Doctor succeeded in beating him a second time, the megalomaniac cyborg was sentenced to imprisonment in suspended animation - not execution of course, as that would prevent him from acquiring an inevitable means of escape at a later date and permitting the Doctor Who writers another desperate attempt to win back viewers with the ever-popular enemies.
The Daleks' motive in 'Resurrection,' under the leadership of the ... ...evil Dalek scheme, the Fifth Doctor begins to regret his predecessor's decision not to wipe them out when he had the chance. He vows not to make the same mistake the next time he comes face-to-face with Davros, which is bound to happen sooner rather than later, as the thawed evil genius hatches a plot to duplicate the Doctor's body and send his clone to the High Council of the Time Lords on a mission of assassination...
As may be clear from the ...
