Review of Men In Black (Special Limited Edition) (Wide Screen) by Manic_Mike

Advantages: Brilliant just brilliant
Disadvantages: None

You have to be careful when reading these opinions because although the title refers to the special edition of this disc I noticed that some of the opinions are talking about the limited edition edition. In a wonderful attempt to make money out a popular film Columbia Tri-star have released two versions both with 'Special' style titles. The first being 'Men In Black Special Edition', a title usually reserved for the second release of a film. To clear ...
...cover, featuring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. This itself is an excellent DVD containing not only the usual Trailers and Character profiles but a host of other interesting features. There is a wonderful on-screen commentry with director Barry Sonnenfeld and Tommy Lee Jones. You can see thier sillouetes at the bottom of the screen and they even draw circles on the screen around what they are talking about. It's all very interesting, although there ... Read review

X2:united
Review of X-Men 2 (Definitive Edition) by kdoc1988

Advantages: Continues with an already loved story.
Disadvantages: Differs very subtly from the original comic book

...been a fan of the X-Men since i was a small child, starting with the animated series and then eventually the comic book. X-men introduced us to the characters, but X2 captures them so well that, co-creator, Stan Lee would be proud. Also introducing some new characters that will make fans happy. The returning cast who made these characters their own in the first film, are even better in X2. With the story focusing more on Hugh Jackman's Wolverine ...
...his loss of memory. After his brief encounter with a mutant assassin, Nightcrawler, the president grants William Stryker, a rogue army colonel with a desire to destroy mutants, permission to enter the Xavior Institute, Wolverine conects Styker to his amnesa. Also, while visiting Magneto in his, especially designed, plastic prison, designed by Stryker, Cyclops and The Professor are taken. The remaining X-men, Wolverine, Storm, and Jean, and a few ... A real mixed bag
Review of Doctor Who - Series 1 Vol.2 DVD by Gabbleduck

Advantages: Dalek
Disadvantages: Keith Boak

...from the new series of Doctor Who. ALIENS OF LONDON/WORLD WAR 3 Written by Russell T Davies Director Keith Boak. A double part story that introduced the Slitheen, who were supposed to be scary new monsters. This story is basically a great big mess. The Doctor and Rose return to contemporary London, a great big spaceship plows through Big Ben and lands in the Thames. I really hated this story, it combined more soap opera with the insipid Tyler's ...
...heard of computer security. The Doctor can travel throughout the entire universe but he decides to return to London in the 21st century, to that horrible grotty council estate with those horrible boring characters. By this stage in the original viewing the novelty had worn off. The performers in this story were instructed to play it for laughs by the director, so I can't blame them for chewing the scenery. There were a few things I liked. The ... Read review

Evil Brig RULES!
Review of Doctor Who - Inferno DVD by atytyut2434

Advantages: Evil Brig!
Disadvantages: Standard 70's BBC special effects

...is pretty bonkers but The Doctor manages to transport himself to a parallel Earth where everything is different & everyone he knows and trusts are so different from his own Universes counterparts. I think the best thing about this story is how evil Nick Courtney manages to play without seeming too over the top. The special effects are rubbish but you get John Pertwee at his best, a Tardis that can't be used as this is part of the "confined to Earth ... Read review

Talons of Weng-Chiang
Review of Doctor Who - The Talons Of Weng Chiang DVD by phurren2006

Advantages: Tom Baker as The Doctor
Disadvantages: None

...The plot has The Doctor and Leela appearing in London in 1888 and getting involved in the investigation of the murder of a cabby and the disappearance of some girls. This leads to giant rats, and a time-travelling war criminal, in a way which would only seem right in Doctor Who! One of my favourite aspects of this story is gothic nature of the story, which is clearly inspired by the stories of Fu Manchu by Sax Rohmer. This story is one of those ...
