I always loved the X-Files and I've only just got to series three of this boxset, but I cannot stop watching it. The packaging is not great and the external picture on my version of the boxset (which includes the first film) is also not great or really that encompassing of the entire show and the pictures on each individual year are not that brilliant. Finding it's Feet, or the Alien Equivilant...

Advantages: Wonderful characters, some excellent stories and brilliant special features
Disadvantages: Compared to future seasons, some episodes fall a little short in quality

Opening upon the enigmatic Agent Scully, this series began as it ended - in true style. Granted, this first Season held all the mistakes of a true beginning - and when looked back upon reflects both the best and some of the worst of the series. But any show in it's beginnings will make mistakes as it finds it's feet - which the X Files indeed did. The pairing of the boyish Mulder and the sultry Scully was a stroke of genius - pure fun to watch. ...
...ever stronger, ever tighter, towards the great pairing we finally get to see in later seasons. This truly is the highlight of the show - although to be fair, a show about extraterrestrails, government conspiracies and things that go bump in the night always tickles a sense of fun in a viewer. You Look Like a Radioactive Tampon

Advantages: Great Direction and Acting
Disadvantages: Too Slow for some

Moon reminds me a lot of those big weighty Sci-fi films of the seventies where it was all about atmosphere, storyline and your imagination rather than riotous special effects and wise cracking aliens. Sometimes, Ignorance is bliss

Advantages: clever thriller, good story, well acted

Return To Form!

Advantages: Classy return to form, set in the future! very well done!
Disadvantages: should have been an 18 to be its best!
