Going Ape

Advantages: Very good make-up and costumes, great twist at the end
Disadvantages: Not a film to be watched over and over

Planet of the Apes is a re-make of a previous film by the same name. I had only seen bits of the original film and I thought I knew what the story line was but with this remake it had been altered and brought up to date. The acting is pretty good, but it's hard to really enjoy it when you know in the back of your head that it's just actors and actresses prancing about in costume, but if you can look past that, the film can be enjoyable. Final Fantasy... It's hard to compare this movie to others cus it's just not the same. The story starts off with a dream that Dr. Aki Ross, the main character, has apparently been having a lot lately. The earth is being invaded by some aliens that are invisible, unless viewed with special devices. How to make a boring film

Advantages: The nudity
Disadvantages: Weak plot

When a slight bit of nudity is the highlight of a whole film, you know it's dire. I recognised Jason Marsden from Eerie, Indiana (and yes, he still looked like Dash X) and Julie Strain (From US TV's Sex Court) before anyone even introduced her. An anime fan MUST OWN.

Advantages: Awesome story and animation
Disadvantages: Main female characters' actresses aren't very good.

Read or Die oozes originality and style, and is a must for all hardcore anime fans. Voice actors feature Crispin Freeman, well known as the voices behind Alucard (Hellsing) and Hideki Motosuwa (Chobits). Sometimes, Ignorance is bliss

Advantages: clever thriller, good story, well acted

Dont misunderstand my review title, this is a cracking film. You can nearly always say that about Nicolas Cage films, but this one really is! The premise is simple. There are many disasters happening on earth, for some reason, aliens decide to warn mankind about the upcoming disasters by "whispering" them to a little girl in the 1950's. He soon discovers the code in the series of numbers written on the page and works out that the code tells of impending disasters, when they will happen, how many will die and the location.
