A return to form for the Enterprise crew
Review of Star Trek 6 : The Undiscovered Country DVD by phurren2006

Advantages: It is much better than the fifth film
Disadvantages: It is the last in the series to feature the complete original Enterprise crew

The sixth film in the Star Trek saga featured the usual crew of the Enterprise, with guest appearances by a variety of stars and celebrities including Christopher Plummer, Kim Cattrall (long before her 'Sex and the City' days), Christian Slater (in a brief cameo) and Iman. Relatively recent in relation to the making of the film, the collapse of the Soviet Union had an impact on the storyline of the film. Because of the imminent annihilation of their ...
...evidenced in the previous film, STAR TREK V: THE FINAL FRONTIER. It appears that Paramount threw more money at this film, fittingly as it is a send-off to the original crew (although Kirk, Scotty and Chekov make an appearance in the next film, which introduces the NEXT GENERATION crew to the big screen). The acting is also superb, and this is surprising again considering the wooden-ness of the acting in the previous film. The only sour note is Kim ... Read review

'It's Time For A New Kind Of Magic'
Review of Highlander 2 DVD by BlueMidget

Advantages: Sean Connery's Return as Ramirez
Disadvantages: Pretty much the rest of the movie.

...in order to kill The Highlander once and for all. Having survived these assassins MacLeod regains his immortality. Around the same time as Connor regains his immortality, Juan Villa-Lopez Ramirez (Sean Connery) is brought back to life, (though the explanation for this isn't immediately that apparent). I thought his return was actually quite amusing. Ramirez getting used to the modern world is also entertaining, such as him having a suit made to ...
...tongue-in-cheek than the original. Sadly, I think this detracts a little what made the original so gripping. Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery once again have a good on-screen repore and their exchanges are about the best thing in the movie. They're first meeting is enjoyable to watch and the shift from Mentor/Student of 'Highlander' to a more Father/Son relationship is very well played. I thought Michael Ironside plays a reasonable part as ... Read review

The TOS Crew Signs Off...
Review of Star Trek 6 : The Undiscovered Country DVD by Virogen

Advantages: Relevant Plot, Great Performances, Excellent Special Effects
Disadvantages: Betrays some Trek Values

Star Trek The Undiscovered Country marks the final voyage of the entire TOS crew in the Star Trek franchise. The movie originally premiered in 1992, when the memory of the Cold War and the fall of the USSR was still quite vivid in the minds of many people. It is from this time that the Undiscovered Country was produced, and as you watch the movie you can draw many, many parallels between the US/USSR and the Federation/Klingons. And as fans know, ...
...The story is a Star Trek spin on the classic whodunnit genre, while still feeling fresh as it is set in space with a more epic nature as peace between two vast interstellar empires is at stake. The Klingons want to make peace with the Federation to end decades of hostility. Unfortunately, there are those out there that do not want this hostility to end and they try to frame Kirk and McCoy for the murder of a Klingon ambassador. I will not give out ... Read review
