Invasion of the Dishrags!

Advantages: A wide variety of extras and a very good story.
Disadvantages: Some effects might seem dated by today's standards.

...Well, this is the first Doctor Who review I have done, since the BBC announcement of the new TV series being made next year. Hopefully, my endless hopping round the room and silly grin will not detract from this opinion too much ;-) STORY Carnival of Monsters was a four-part story featuring the third Doctor – Jon Pertwee – and one of the most popular companions of the ‘70s, Jo Grant (Katy Manning). It was televised in 1973, reaching ...
...officials there. The Doctor and Jo materialise on board the SS Bernice in 1926. However, things are not as straight-forward as they seem. Those on the ship appear to be living some kind of Groundhog Day and face attacks from a plesiosaur! Yes, the Doctor and Jo are inside the miniscope and as they manage to escape the ship’s repetitive routine, they encounter the frightening dragon-like monsters – the Drashigs. As the machine malfunctions, ...

Not a sunday roast but Soylent green!

...it for days after. Soylent Green is a new food Suppliment in the poor future, and it is a improvement on the recent Soylent colours. It is in High demand, and The character 'thorn' played by Chartan Heston discovers the manafacturing process of it. It makes you think how the world would be in the future. i like the fact that although it was made in the 70s and its set in the year 2022- thats quite far unlike the film space 1999! ...

Released at the end of 1973, this near hour and a half thriller/ friction type movie revolves around the futuristic events in a amusement world involving some rather bizarre robots. ** BRIEF PLOT ** In an amusement park, which is split into three sections… Medieval world, Roman World and Western world, ( which ...

You Look Like a Radioactive Tampon

Advantages: Great Direction and Acting
Disadvantages: Too Slow for some

Moon reminds me a lot of those big weighty Sci-fi films of the seventies where it was all about atmosphere, storyline and your imagination rather than riotous special effects and wise cracking aliens. This film is utterly beguiling, its tense but strangely relaxing, all of these is down to two men, the director Duncan Jones and the star Sam Rockwell. This is Jones' first feature film and its an incredibly impressive debut, he eschewed using his father ...
...it is a really fantastic film which is a credit to him. Starring Sam Rockwell as Sam, the only worker on an automated lunar mining complex. He has been working on his own for nearly three years and nearing the end of his term in space he feels lonely, isolated and confused....as anyone would, I imagine. With only a droid, Gerty (Voiced by Kevin Spacey) for company, Sam is alone and starts to feel a world apart from Earth, he feels he is alone but ...
