I have never been a big fan of movie spoofs or the slasher movie genre encompassing such movies as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer etc. so i went to see this movie expecting to be unimpressed - but was pleasantly surprised. This is a very funny movie. Taking Scream as its main influence and target, this movie takes a cast of unknown 'teenage' actors and has them killed off in a variety of hilarious ways by the man in Munch's Scream mask. The plot is of course, very loose. The group accidentally killed a man last summer and believe that it is him seeking revenge as he kills them one by one. They try to stay alive - and that's about it. The movie is packed with spoofs of other movies(Scream, The Sixth Sense, The Exorcist etc) and some hilarious sexual jokes. Some of the best moments include the scene with the gym teacher("We all have little secrets") and where one member of the group has a sexually draining experience with his girlfriend after a long abstinence from sex.
The acting here is abysmal - but they would probably argue that that is part of the spoof so I guess they get away with that one. The special effects are good, but just because this is a comedy do not expect them not to be gory. In one scene for example, one of the group members is stabbed, hacked and beheaded right before your naked, steaming eyes and ears. She complains the whole time about how unoriginal his methods are(even when beheaded) but this does little to underemphasise the horror factor. There are also some very graphic sexual jokes here which some may find quite offensive, both of these aspects making it a deserved R-rating.
This movie is in all honestly, probably aimed at the under 25s market with its coarse sexual humour but I would still recommend it to anyone who is not too prudish. Whilst there are no doubt many ethical arguments as to whether a movie should be made which is effectively a comedy about a serial killer which mixes sex, violence, horror and comedy and the damaging effects this may have, there is an arguably better argument which says shut up and be entertained! And entertained you will be. Whilst there are some very silly moments (the first couple of minutes for example) these are far outweighed by some excellent visual gags which aim straight for the most basic levels of humanity - and score a direct hit!
This is simply the funniest film I have seen for ages - go see it now!

Advantages: This is hilarious - if you're of the juvenile persuasion. Disadvantages: This is terribly offensive, disgusting, and occasionally delves into sacrilege.
