I was really upset, to be totally honest. I really blame ITV because they showed "Scary Movie" on TV, and I was expecting they'd show this film in a week's time, guess what they didn't, so I had to beg my mom to buy this from HMV (it was only 2 for £10). But I'm still annoyed about the fact that ITV made us buy this DVD!
The director of this film is: Keenen Ivory Wayans
Keenen was also the director of the 1st Scary movie. He is also an actor, Comedian, Writer and Producer. So basically he is multi-talented. He hasn't directed many recent ones only 2 that I didn't really enjoy watching and that is "White Chicks" and "Little Man". I'm not sure I'm enjoy watching his films, only Scary Movie, I enjoy!
Cindy Campbell is played by Anna Faris. She really famous and can be seen in lots of films, I would say she's becoming not only a more and more popular actress but she is also becoming one of my favourite actresses. she has been in: "Just Friends", "Scary Movie", This Film, "Scary Movie 3", Scary Movie 4", "My Super Ex-Girlfriend", "Brokeback Mountain" & "The House Bunny". She is a really good actress because I've watched a few of those films and I barely recognise her, let alone imagine her being a totally different character. She played Cindy brilliantly!
The other actors and actresses are seen in most of the scary movie films and in different films, and you may glimpse them in some other films, however they aren't seen frequently unlike Anna Faris!
This film was definitely not a like to the film before. The plot begins with a parody of The Exorcist, in which Megan Voorhees, is possessed and two priests, Father McFeely and Father Harris, must drive the demon out. The exorcism doesn't go as planned, and a chain of the Exorcist-like vomiting occurs. Megan insults McFeely's mother and he shoots her in the head.
Cindy and the others are baits for a study to find out why this really scary house is called Hell House. They find scary things and then all HELL brakes loose.
This film wasn't as funny as the one before, though the parodies are endless in this film, and I think that's what Keenen wanted to do, and make it funny that way, the only problem in doing that is that the films that can be shown as a parody for this film, may not have been seen by everyone, like I only recognise some of the parodies, such as "what Lies Beneath" and "Charlie's Angels", but there's ones such as "Titanic" (Which surprisingly enough I haven't seen) and "Hannibal", I haven't watched and therefore couldn't possibly known that it was a parody.
This film I enjoyed to a moderate amount, you can't really give this a 5-star rating when the first film was so much better. I am also pretty surprised by the rating as it's an 18, though I have seen 15's that's well scarier and has a lot more "sex references" and contains more stronger language, such as "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "Prom Night" and even "No Vacancy"!
The special features are: -Behind the Scenes Featurette -Deleted Scenes Alternate Scenes -Special Effects Tour -'Here Kitty, Kitty' -Various Effects -'Make Up Effects' -Still Gallery
I did not watch the special Features, however you already knew that!
As you can gather I do recommend this film to everyone as its well worth watching, however I shall say that you shouldn't expect as much humour as you did in the last film, unless you have watched all the films that can be seen as parodies!
Here's a question for you to answer in my comments: was my actor profiles better than last time as I put how good I thought the acting was?
