In the first Scary Movie we saw the mick taking of a number of films, which were The Matrix, Don’t Be A Menace In South Central While Drinking The Juice In The Hood (it’s a real film, honest!), Halloween H20, I Know What You Did Last Summer and the main one, Scream. The latest film takes a different approach, as after watching the first film you would expect the sequel to include the mass-murdering Scream killer, but it doesn’t. In fact the movie takes the mick out of The Exorcist, Cats and Dogs, The Hollowman, The Haunting, House On Haunted Hill, Charlie’s Angels, and The Poltergeist, producing quite an extraordinary sketch.
The movie starts with a spoof from The Exorcist at Hell House, which is quite funny. It mainly focuses on the part with the possessed girl in her bed with all the trimmings, especially the puking up. After this short 10-15 minute interval to the film you have the classic ‘one year later’ syndrome, whereby you see ‘Shorty’ and ‘Cindy’ (the main character) from the first movie, talking about their new life in college. Shorty teaches her a few moves of his own while telling Cindy to relax and she ends up bullying a girl into handing over her new coat (just one of the funny episodes in this film).
Most of the cast from the first movie appear in this sequel, Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), Brenda (Regina Hall), Ray (Shawn Wayans) along with a few new faces. They are fooled into spending a weekend at the haunted mansion ‘Hell House’ as part of a so-called sleeping disorder study conducted by an evil-minded teacher at the college they are now studying at. They were chosen by his wheel-chaired colleague as the people who have survived a near death experience. The idea behind this is to get some answers to the rumours of a poltergeist present at this mansion. As these people have experienced near death, it wouldn’t be that bad if any of them were killed in this mansion now would it??
The funniest character in this film has to be the parrot you will meet in the mansion. He doesn’t just talk back to people, he insults them, swears and even offers you out for a fight. We see in the first Scary Movie how it evolves into the funny Matrix episode while Cindy is fighting Scream and a similar episode evolves this time around with three of the girls, including Cindy dressed up in Charlie’s Angel style clothes and fighting the possessed butler with a dodgy hand. You may wonder what I’m talking about with this butler having a dodgy hand, but when you see the film you will know what I mean. It is slightly deformed providing a scary thought to everyone’s mind in the mansion. He serves up dinner with his bare hand, turning everyone off the food in a hilarious moment of sickness.
While this film is very good in it’s own right, I still feel the first movie is better and you don’t even have to watch the first movie to be able to understand the sequel because it is so different. Nethertheless I would still recommend it as a good investment for you’re few quid spent at the cinema.
If you hated the first one though, it won't be a wise idea to watch this one.

I give you a VH because it is a good op, but spelling and presentation let you down. It sounds like a great movie! I loved the first one! - Sarah
P.s. Why do you write all your opion titles in capital letters? Just curious.
