Review of A Breath Of A Scandal DVD by  sexybabe7825

Advantages: Maurice Chevalier's cheeky smile
Disadvantages: Boring and very poor and not worth the time unless you like Barbara Cartland books!

One of the best British Films I have ever seen...
Review of Notes On A Scandal DVD by  jgyphion

Advantages: Tantalising storyline, blinding performances from all involved
Disadvantages: Not much in the way of special features on the DVD

...I first watched 'Notes on a Scandal' at the local cinema and was blown away by the storyline, the power and honesty of the performances and the insidious nature of Judi Dench's character in this gripping Brit Flick. The movie loses nothing in its tranfer to DVD, as it's not one of those 'must-see-in-the-cinema' films. The film explores the tangled web of deceit, manipulation and betrayal, largely controlled by Barbara (Dench), and the fall out from Sheba's (Blanchett) ultimate indiscretion. When Barbara loses control and envy gets the better of her, some secrets from her past are revealed as the situation spirals out of control. If you like a solid storyline and great acting you'll love this! The film is a gripping portrayal of a one-sided lesbian love affair and an essentially paedophillic relationship, and the devastating... Read review

Sex, Sex, Sex and its still a naff movie
Review of Scandal DVD by  wampyrii

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review

...Scandal documents the cummings and goings(pun intended) of the 'Profumo Affair' in 60s Britain. It is a true story of the sex scandal which eventually lead to the downfall of the Conservative party in Britain in the 1960s. Minister of War, John Profumo(played here by Ian McKellen) is found to have been doing the naughty with prostitute Christine Keeler(Joanne Whalley-Kilmer). Nothing unusual there for a Conservative politician, if the Sunday papers are to be believed, but there is the additional problem here that she has also been linked to Eugene Ivanov, an alleged Russian spy, having been introduced to both through high-class osteopath Stephen Ward(John Hurt). Also fidning her way into the thick of things is another of Ward's 'friends' Mandy Rice-Davies(Bridget Fonda), who attends orgies and the like with all of them and basically... Read review

...This is the true story of a woman (Erin) who sued an American water company for contaminating water and made them pay over three hundred and thirty million dollars in damages. She is played excellently by Julia Roberts who is in nearly every scene of this two hour plus film. She starts out as a single mother of three who starts work at a small legal firm and uncovers the scandal of a company who are poisining hundreds of families in the the local community by deliberatly contaminating their water supplies. This is the best film Julia Roberts has ever done and the acting from the entire cast is superb....
