Third installment of what is arguable one of th best gore films out there. Not a lot of money has been spent on this series, but its genious lies in the pure simplicity (Saw one predominantly used some chain, a hacksaw and one room for the majority of its screening) and the twisted mind of aptly named jigsaw who punishes people for their sins. No A-list heavy weight actors present but the whole cast give a remarkably life like experience. Bahar Soomekh who plays Lynn is a suitable good looking victim and Shawnee Smith returns with very convincing mood swings and fight scenes. Tobin Bell was always made for the part, after playing a role in both X Files and Charmed he plays the bad guy better than no one else, in Saw 3 his dying body does not prevent him from dishing out justice better than ever. It helps if you have watched the previous two films before going to see Saw III, the story can stand alone but the previous two set the stadard and its exciting to see how this one measures up. I went to see this in the cinema the day it came out, an avid Saw fan i was not dissapointed. The day the dvd was released i was down asda (cheapest new relaeases in town) to purchase my copy. The thing that has always made the saw series was the originality of the traps and tortures, and installment 3 has more than both prequals but together. Im not going to spoil the story, thiS is a review after all and will be seen by people who may Eventually buy it, and i urge you BUY IT! All im saying is that jigsaw, coming to the end of his life has handed his legacy over and plans to go out with one final bang, Packed with excellent features, including a documentary on the traps used, really takes you inside the making and more bonus footage that will add an extra couple hours at most. Some of the most realistic torture scenes ever released, spurred on by horrific props and an insight into every characters dark side. A surprising twist at the end leaves this series well open for Saw 4, and if the step up is anything like how this film has raised the bar, it will be one of the years hotest releases yet again. This film will hopefully give Shawnee Smith (Another former X-files guest) the break she needs after very small parts in The Island, and voicing for GTA Vice City radio station.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
as everyone below says, this needs a fair bit more information to possibly gain higher ratings. as for the film, I really enjoyed it - as I have all the Saw films - and hopefully #4 will continue in the same vain when it comes out this Halloween. Alex

Sorry for the low rating. Perhaps you could tell us more. For example, who is in it and maybe a bit more of the plot to help people determine whether they'd enjoy this. If you edit this let me know via my guestbook and I'll come back and re-read it.

I lovd the other saw films but haven't seen this one yet. I agree with Rich below but you also say you wont say much because you dont want to give away too much but you need to say a lot more than you do to get people interested other than just saying GO BUY IT. Why? Who's in it? Actors? Describe some of the characters etc
