Advantages: A beginning as action packed as any ending Disadvantages: Incredibly dark especially during key scenes.
In the summer of 2006 Saw 3 reached the news headlines, people were vomiting and passing out in the cinemas because of the extreme nature of the movie. Of the back of this publicity over night all cinemas were given a trimmed down version of the movie from the producers, who obviously did not want the movie to get banned in this country. So after three nights of screenings, it was only an edited version that the UK public got to see. With the release ... ...seeing this movie?
I saw Saw and thoroughly enjoyed its graphic nature, but for various reasons Saw 2 just slipped me by; so in a manner I'd never advise I went straight from the original to the third and final outing "allegedly". I can not emphasise the point, don't do this see all the movies and especially don't consider watching this version if you have not seen the original; as a key scene in the third movie may throw you into some serious confusion.

Advantages: It presents a complete picture… Disadvantages: … but it's too gory; more than the other sequels
Saw III [film only]
I was drinking cranberry juice while watching Saw III again… yes, I was actually drinking a red juice while hearing bones being crushed, muscles being torn, and blood splashing on people's faces. Yummy, but I wonder where this is going to lead me. When you begin watching Saw III, you will only see a series of terribly gory scenes, and definitely wonder what you have gotten yourself into. But if you give the film a chance, you'll ... ...The good thing about Saw III is that it answers a number of questions that you might have, rather than just posing more questions and leaving unfinished business as the other sequels do. At the end of this film, you are actually fooled into believing that this is the last Saw sequel; by now we know it isn't. It also deals with believable issues; you might agree with Jigsaw that people should learn to let go. I have to say here that I do not condone ...

Saw 3 is the last of a trilogy about a man called Jigsaw. He is a sick psychopath who thinks up new ways to completely destroy the unfortunate individuals who he makes his victims.
The story is hard to follow if you haven't watched the previous films and in my opinion is better than Saw 2 but still not up to the standard of the original Saw.
Story: The evil puppet-master Jigsaw a.k.a. John Kramer is at work again. But there's a twist. He is dying ... ...his evil games that we saw in Saw 1. She has completely transformed and now has even more of a sick mind than Jigsaw himself. Jigsaw tests her but she fails. The games she plays are unwinnable, her "subjects merely victims".
Jigsaw claims that he is not a murderer and goes as far to say that he despises them. He says that he doesn't kill his victims, he just helps them to appreciate their life. Amanda kidnaps a doctor who must keep him alive to ...

Advantages: Great music, good twist, and very interesting Disadvantages: Ultra violent, banned in several countries
...illustrate their ethics.
Saw Three for those of you who do not know is the third film in a blood saturated trilogy. If you haven't seen the other two- especially the first one, then I would hazard that the film won't make all that much sense in it's conclusion for you, though parts of it can be watched without any preknowledge of the movies. Just in case those of you reading haven't seen either of the previous films, I'll give you a swift rundown ... ...a twist in every film. Saw 2 throws more victims into the mix, a bigger twist and a lot more gore.
Now before I start on the movie proper, I just want to get started on one thing that really bugs me about this trilogy, and that is John (the serial killer.) He vehemnantly denies being a murderer, indeed claims to hate murderers, and claims he does not kill his victims, he just tests their dedication to the life. Could someone tell this man that from ...

Advantages: Extreme Edition Disadvantages: ending lets you down
...brutal, bloodthirsty horror of 2006; Saw 3. My first encounter with the movie was after Christmas as I had just been introduced to saw 2 by my sci-fi fanatic sister. I must admit when I first heard I thought ok this sounds cheesy and as the movie continued I was gradually proved right. Many parts of the movie were fantastically filmed and superbly acted but other areas proved the theory that number one in a trilogy is always the best. The movie starts ... ...hospital but as she goes on with her day she gets more outlandish whilst in surgery. When her shift finishes Lynn is attacked by a bizarre figure. When she awakes she is met with a man who is clearly on his death bed and she later becomes aware that he is the dreaded Jigsaw or as he is addressed in this movie; John. At this time she is also met with 'The Game.' Jigsaw's assistant Amanda cautiously places what seems to be another torture device only ...

Advantages: Great Psychological horror movie Disadvantages: Could make you have nightmares!
...This Third film in the "Saw "story on DVD certainly terrified me!
There is plenty of gore & suffering, I found myself hiding behind a pillow several times as the games took place throughout?
If you have not heard of Saw but love extreme horror movies then I can recommend this edition.
There is a new apprentice, the psychological games take the characters to the edge, will they survive or not? They will be made to make life or death decisions. Sometimes for themselves & sometimes for others. There are some really great special effects throughout . Be warned - Not for the faint hearted.
I have seen all three films and advise you that it is best to watch this one after the first two, as the continuing story unfolds throughout....

Advantages: Soo much gore! Disadvantages: Confusing ending (for me anyway lol)
...This film does not dissapoint at all! Even more gory than the first two which you would think is not possible but believe me it is! I love gory films but even this made me cringe and turn away at some points! The film is again based around the dying 'Jigsaw' and his sidekick Amanda who play yet more distubing games with people who need to learn a valuable lesson in life. This time the games are bigger and much more disturbing! There is a great twist at the end which i didnt think was very predictble at all! It all seems to end a bit quick though and i was left a bit confused and had too sit and think about it for a while afterwards and it seems like there needs to be a Saw 4 to finish it off! But overall i loved this film better than the first two!...

Advantages: One of the most original films of all time! Disadvantages: Sometimes can go abit over board with blood and guts etc.
...If you havent seen any of this Saw collection before then it is a must see...although i wouldnt recomend it if you are of the faint hearted. With its gruesome twists and turns in its story lines, Saw 1, 2 and 3 will keep you guessing throughout.
The extremeeditions bring a whole new light on the Saw collection with even more twisted scenes and extras.
I would strongly recomend this if your a fan of mind-bending thrillers and a lover of 'guts and gore' horror films however if you are easily put off then this isnt the film for you and could leave you feeling quesy for along time.
Also if you are interested in watching the fourth film from all the hype, i strongly recomend you watch these three first. The story line in the end turns out to be one long flowing one....

DVD Description
In 2004, a low-budget horror film about a man who put people with moral failings into grisly, murderous situations became a huge hit. In 2005, the sequel scored again, upping the body count and the terror. In 2006, the franchise continued, with plenty of gore as well as an emotional story line that delved into the psychological makeup of the main characters. As SAW II concluded, Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) was dying. But that doesn't mean his penchant for playing games of torture and violence is ending. In SAW 3, the murders start occurring again, and Kerry (Dina Meyer) is back on the case, although she thinks this time it might be the work of a copycat. She's only partly right: Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the only victim to have survived both movies, has joined Jigsaw as his apprentice, leading the way through a terrifying game involving Lynn (Bahar Soomekh), a doctor in an unhappy marriage, and Jeff (Angus Macfadyen), a distraught man who is having trouble getting over the loss of his son (Stefan Georgiou) at the hands of a drunk driver. Amanda has captured Lynn and placed her in a neck brace that is linked to Jigsaw's heart monitor; she must keep Jigsaw alive or else the brace will explode. Meanwhile, Jeff is sent on a dangerous journey on which he faces all the people involved in the light penalty his boy's killer received--and it is up to him whether he will seek vengeance or offer forgiveness. Helmed by SAW II director Darren Lynn Bousman and written by original SAW screenwriter and star Leigh Whannell (with a story by Whannell and SAW director James Wan), SAW 3 is an intricately designed, gruesome thriller with a hard-driving soundtrack featuring songs by Slayer, Helmet, and All that Remains.
