Saturday Morning Pictures - The Best Of The Children's Film Foundation - Vol. 3 DVD

Advantages: Not over complicated, easy to watch
Disadvantages: Lacking in quality dialogue

...A truly fantastic film from the master of action films Quentin Tarantino. Kill Bill takes you on a bloodthirsty whirlwind trip that only leaves you wanting more. Kill Bill Vol.1 portrays an imersive world that draws you in without detracting from the real point of the film, the central plot flowing smoothly through the picture and the understated acting making the overall feel of the film as sharp as the swords. This picture will deliver everything the trailer promised us and will leave you hungering for Vol.2. A must see for any Tarantino fan and a definate recomendation to any fan of action films, especilally those fond of Japanese style martial arts pictures. In addition to all of this the animated segment of the film allowed Kill Bill to show a particularly disturbing scene in a way that, if not tasteful, must certainly be credited... Read review

...When I was dragged off on a Moday evening with a friend to see the X-men, I was not best pleased. The name instantly called up images of boring cartoons, the kind they show on saturday morning tv for the kids. However I was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, it was not animated. Seconly it was not packed out with small children and parents, making the most of the summer holidays, so I was not sluped in my seat in shame for even being there. Wht I actually saw was a decent action film, with a comprehensible (if unplausible) plot. The only downside was some rather silly character names like Cyclops and Storm.... Read review

Disadvantages: None. Zilch.

...Firstly I should explain that I may be slightly bias towards this DVD as I am a massive snoopy fan; we're talking 'stay away from that crazy snoopy lady kids!' style fanatic. I had a beagle when I was very young and ever since have been crazy about all beagles but especially Snoopy. My Snoopy collection is so enormous it's the stuff of legend (Okay I may be starting to exaggerate a teensy bit here). Back to the review.... The front of the DVD case looks exactly like the picture shown, vibrant red and hard to miss! The back has a short explanation of the two classic peanuts programmes which are on the disc. The first "IT'S THE EASTER BEAGLE, CHARLIE BROWN" is a short piece of film first shown in 1974. This programme shows the peanuts gang preparing for Easter; well apart from Linus who insists that the 'Easter Beagle' will appear... Read review
