DVD Description
A collection of four classic films from the Emerald Isle. In the love story RYAN'S DAUGHTER, the wife of a quiet school teacher has an affair with a handsome young English major. MICHAEL COLLINS charts the life and times of Michael Collins, the man who inspired passion in a nation and changed the history of Ireland. Set in a small town in the 1960s, THE BUTCHER BOY centres on a lonely boy named Francie who retreats into a fantasy world of cowboy stories. It's there, cut off from rest of society, that he sees a vision of the Virgin Mary. THE GENERAL tells the true story of Martin Cahill, the most prominent Irish criminal of the 1980s, who stole nearly £30m without ever getting caught. A protean figure, he walked a fine line between violent fugitive and national hero, secretly shaking hands with police officer Ned Kelly while sticking two carefully chosen fingers up at authority.
Advantages: All Jack Ryan stories are together and in order Disadvantages: Jack Ryan played by different actors
...killing his family. Non-stop action and suspense.
*Clear and Present Danger*
Clear and Present Danger had me hooked from start to finish (although slightly complicated storyline). Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) is appointed acting CIA Deputy Director of Intelligence aqnd heads off to Colombia to investigate the murder of one of the President's friends. This film is full of action and cover ups.
*The Sum Of All Fears*
I found The Sum of All Fears very action packed but very confusing. I think it is set before the Hunt for Red October. I'm still not really sure what it was about except for Russia and terrorists (I think I made need to sit down and watch it again).
Morgan Freeman was his usual brilliant self in it and Ben Affleck played Jack Ryan.
*Summary*
I found it hard to relate to the character of Jack Ryan in Hunt...

Advantages: Good value, good quality all around Disadvantages: May be a little hard to understand for a first time anime viewer
...This DVD Boxset of Samurai X (Original Japanese Title : Rurouni Kenshin, Rurouni, meaning Master-less Samurai or wondering Samurai and Kenshin being the name of the main character.)
This boxset contains 4 DVD's;
Trust
Betrayal
The Motion Picture
Reflections
All in all they run for about 5 hours.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The DVD's in this set tell the story of Hitokiri Battousai, a man famed (of so the story goes) for being the most powerful and deadly manslayer of the Meji Restoration in Japan, effectively an assasin. Samurai X is also linked to three series of Anime which are also available (the cost is about $100, it doesn't seem to be available in the UK yet). Trust and Betrayal are set before the series, The Motion Picture is set at a point during the series and Reflections...

Advantages: A collection of all the great Monty Python movies Disadvantages: Some movies, ie., Monty Python and the Meaning of Life, have no extra features
..., as I found it unfunny mostly, and a waste of time. I have only seen it once, and that was when I first watched it after purchasing this DVD boxset.
The acting is brilliant and while scenarios are quite often absurd and sometimes feeling quite random, acting sometimes feels as though it could be real. The acting is naturally funny as well, backing to the jokes that are made, causing these films to be the funniest I have ever witnessed in my life.
~~~ The DVDs ~~~
So, the boxset has 4 DVD cases in, compromising 5 DVDs. These are the three films; Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Life of Brian and Monty Python and the Meaning of Life, as well as the movie of Flying Circus; Monty Python's And Now For Something Completely Different.
~~~ DVD Features ~~~
DVD features I found were generally lacking, following...
