Russell Watson - Live 2002 And The Voice Live (DVD)

...I have always enjoyed watching stand up and happily spend many evenings with the other half, falling asleep giggling to something silly. My favourite comedians include, Bill Bailey, Eddie Izzard, Jim Davidson, Lee Evans and Tim Minchin. While browsing through HMV a few weeks ago, making a few usual impulse buys in the hope of finding something good, I spotted Russell Howard's "Live" DVD. The name rang a bell and I briefly remembered seeing a 2 minute clip of Russell on youtube and finding it funny. So the DVD was brought for 9.99. If you have never seen Russell Howard before or seen any of his material, I can only describe him as being hysterically funny with a boyish charm. ...,i realised he could give any of us a run for our money on 'the weakest link'! I decided to buy this dvd as I knew it was right up my ally. I got it on ebay for roughly 9.00p and recieved it about 3 days later. Its rated 18,and I can certainly see why. Brand generally deals with the subject of embarrasment in this hour long d.v.d filmed at the Shepards Bush Empire. Its certainly not the type of humour I would sit down and watch with my mum or dad,as you even find yourself cringing at the balls of steel he has to say some things. I think that you certainly have to be open minded and quite laid back to enjoy his humour. His humour is NOT racist or prejudice to anyone,by saying you must be open minded and layed back,i mean the fact that he openly talks about sex,sex and more sex! ...Russell Watson first came to my attention when I heard him sing at the opening of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. He sang 'Where my Heart Will Take me' (one of mine and my hubbies all time favourite songs) and I suddenly realised what an amazing voice he had. When I knew he was writing his biography I could not wait to get a copy and read it. Russell starts the book in October 2007 at the time of his collapsed and when he was told he needed emergency surgery to remove his second brain tumour. We are then taken back to his childhood where he tells about how he grew up in Sunningdale Drive in Irlam, Manchester. He lived there with his mother and father and his younger sister Hayley.
