Front cover: Is mainly black background colour with orange lightbulbs arranged to spell out the name of the band 'KIZZ' but is actually called kiss, even though the font makes it look like kizz. Advantages: Lovely colours, cute dinosaurs and a heart warming tale
Disadvantages: none, apart from a lack of featurettes and extra bits

...quality of the graphics and animation, I'd say it was quite a let down. It's not really been improved very much from the old Video tape format. The songs and sound quality however is noticably different, either that or my speakers are much better than when we had the VHS's. But the colours still blur, which is disappointing for me as I'd expected some improvement. The kids on the other hand, adore it and don't care that it's not as digitally mastered as other animated films, for example, those in the genre of Finding Nemo and Toy Story. Advantages: Excellent acting and suspence.
Disadvantages: Check for sub-title availablity. The end of the story lets it down.

...Black Widow (after the spider) was a film that fit perfectly into the suspense/crime/thriller genre, released in 1987 and starring Theresa Russell (appearances on Law and Order and American Heiress) as the Spider and Debra Winger (An Officer and a Gentleman, Leap of Faith) as the federal agent from the Justice Department who is on her tail. The cast also included other notable actors such as Dennis Hopper and Terry O'Quinn. The original film was 102 minutes long but was edited to 97 minutes for the DVD, which is a no frills affair but with the amount of plot going on in this story, a few re-runs might be needed to understand everything and spot things that were easily missed before. The classification is 15 but for parents it might be more suitable for 16 if not 18, especially since it's usually shown long after the watershed... Read review
