Ever heard a friend asking if you saw Mock the Week and what that bloke said?...no not Frankie Boyle. No not the bald one. No not the presenter. The other one. This is the man they were speaking about in all probability.
Russell Howard is a comedian who I first saw (as I am sure many people did on his appearances on Mock the Week) and after seeing his appearances on Mock the Week I liked his style of comedy and believed that his live show would be brilliant as he seems to be a comedian with a very quick thought process which can lead to some amazing audience interaction and so I decided I had to give his live stand up show a chance and came away with a feeling that the show had been brilliant but like I wanted so much more (at first I put this down as a bad thing but realised that this is what a top comedian would want you to go away with). To explain a little further I would say to you if you purchase this dvd then you will laugh a lot and will sit with cheek pain from the smile being so big throughout as Russell just delivers the laughter perfectly time and again. Russell Howard is a comedian who is so charming with his cheeky delivery that you start getting relaxed and feeling a real warmth towards this young, energetic, up-coming comedian and get really into the show but then it is all over...I thought this was a downfall of his dvd but in honesty it is because he is a comedian who you don't tire of. With many comedians out there you find yourself time watching even if it is funny as the set just starts to drag but you don't sit and look to your watch during Russell's show as you have really relaxed into it and would rather you want it to keep on going. Excellent delivery of well thought out and often eccentric comedy makes this energetic young comedian a real up and coming star who you can't help but feel warmth towards and I can't wait for more of the same.
