I'd never been a fan of the infamous Brand and really couldnt see what all the fuss was about. I especially couldnt see why women were swooning over him either,to me he looked like a scruffy guy that was desperately in need of a wash! However,I completely take it all back,not only is he one of the most hilarious and clever men/comedians of our generation,but my gosh I certainly wouldnt kick him out of my bed either!
I first decided he was hilarious after watching him in the early hours doing Comic Relief early this year. I found his humour and the way in which things just came out of his mouth absolutely side-splitting. Im a bit extreme on the comedy front,and find really on the edge things hilarious,things that break the boundaries. The best thing about Brand is his mind,hes a genious and after raeding his auto biography,i realised he could give any of us a run for our money on 'the weakest link'!
I decided to buy this dvd as I knew it was right up my ally. I got it on ebay for roughly 9.00p and recieved it about 3 days later.
Its rated 18,and I can certainly see why.
Brand generally deals with the subject of embarrasment in this hour long d.v.d filmed at the Shepards Bush Empire. Its certainly not the type of humour I would sit down and watch with my mum or dad,as you even find yourself cringing at the balls of steel he has to say some things.
I think that you certainly have to be open minded and quite laid back to enjoy his humour. His humour is NOT racist or prejudice to anyone,by saying you must be open minded and layed back,i mean the fact that he openly talks about sex,sex and more sex!
He talks of using a hoover to erm,enjoy himself!! and how he feels guilty if his cat watches!
As i said,its not to everyones humour.
However he also talks of his childhood,and how if a loose dog would run into the playground,everyone would jump up from their seats and start getting excited. That is all too true,as many will remember happening to them!
The d.v.d,has extra scenes too,including an interview with Noel Gallagher who is in the audience and also an interview with Brand and Matt Morgan,a friend who works with him and has known him and stuck by him through everything. It lets you see Russell as the person that he is and also makes you see that he can be serious. These last about 25 mins each,if i remember rightly.
I dont want to give the whole show away,so I wont,but if your not offended easily and like Brands humour,then definately give this one a watch.
