Russell Brand grew up in Essex and first came to fame with the hit channel 4 show Big Brothers Big Mouth (a spin off from the actual show Big Brother) He was recognised by his outrages behaviour, dress sence and articulate language. The 33 year old Russell became a big hit and now does his own stand up shows.
The DVD "Doing life" is hilarious throughout. If you are easily offended then i suggest you do not watch it, on the other hand if you are not then you will simply love the DVD. The stand up was performed at the Hackney Empire in London very close to his home town. The time duration of the DVD is approximately 1 hour and 2 mins and the certificate of the DVD is 18 (not surprisingly).
He talks about being a child, family holidays and what time he used to go to bed. What i found endearing was the affectionate mockery of his mother and father when he described what it was like growing up with divorced parents. He is also not ashamed to mention some of his days where he was drug addicted and trying to get through airport security which i found particularly hilarious. "The shagger of the year" as claimed the The Sun, isn't afraid to mock himself either, describing himself as a "Pervert" and describing in detail the time he had a three some with his mate. He also includes a large part about when he was on the set of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" doing embarrassing sex scenes and such.
The DVD also includes extras such as his radio 2 show and appearing on Johnathon Ross which is also hilarious. Like many DVD's you can watch his stand up rutine in clearly divied sections of your choice.
