Comedy movies have taken many shapes and forms but the person who had the idea to put Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker together is a genius. You can tell straight away that it isn’t going to be the average action or comedy movie. It’s different, but in a good way.
The plot involves two cops. Detective inspector Lee is from Hong Kong and he team up with LAPD cop James Carter to help Consul Han to get his daughter back after Crime Lord Juntao abducts her. Juntao kidnaps the Consul’s daughter in revenge after Lee confiscates millions in Chinese artefacts stolen by him. This leads from one event to another that manages to create humour and action in a way I have never seen.
The characters are superb. The tagline for the movie really sums it up: “The fastest hands in the East versus the biggest mouth in the West”. Jackie Chan is the fastest hands and he is a great actor now that he can talk English. He now fits into more drama based scenes too, as well as his world-renowned martial arts ability. Chris Tucker certainly has the fastest mouth in the West and to his advantage. He is so funny and also participates in the martial arts too. Combined they make a flawless team that due to the difference in culture make everything funny. They portray the way they learn from each other very well and both provide a great on screen presence. All other cast provide a superb supporting role for the main stars.
The action is brilliant. The fight scenes are choreographed by Jackie Chan and therefore manage to capture the fight in a fast paced and interesting way. It also allows the unique humour in the fighting to be retained creating superb viewing. There are plenty of superb stunts not to mention incredible explosions. All in all the action is up to scratch for a Hollywood production.
This is a brilliant movie. I highly recommend that you give it a go because it combines a unique blend of humour and action. It genuinely is funny too unlike some comedies. Give it a go because I know you won’t regret it. Once you have seen this I recommend Rush Hour 2 also, as it is just as good if not better.

A good generalization of the story by describing its plots etc. He also mention the differences of sense of humour to the both actors Jackie and Chris. Furthermore, he also recommend buyers on rush hour 2 and what to expect from it.
