After seeing Hot fuzz i soon became a huge fan of simon pegg's films, i love his sense of humor so when Run fat boy run came out i thought ive got to see that!.
As a huge fan of Freinds i was happy to find out that David Schwimmer (who played ross in friends) was the Director and with another friendly face from friends Hank Azaria (who played pheobes on/off love interest david) i thought great a comedy show i love has a part in this and with simon pegg aswell it must be funny!!.
I wasn't wrong, it was brilliant in my opinion not quite as good as Hot fuzz but still funny in its own right there where bits that made you giggle and bits that made you laugh out loud and bits that made you go "aww" what made the film for me was simon pegg and the fact that as you watch him you laugh because its so real, because its something you or someone you know would do.
The plot for the film is a little predictible but still a good story to follow.
Plot~ Dennis *pegg* runs out on his pregnant fiance libby *thandie newton* the morning of their wedding. The film then skips 5 years forward to see denis living his life and dealing with the choice he made, and getting to see his son but not always doing to good at that either. When libby finds a new love interest whit * Hank Azaria* a charming guy from america dennis has to deal with what he did and what he will lose because of his "running away". To try to prove to libby he can stick to something and see it through dennis decideds to run a marathon, the same one whit is running whit also happens to be a bit of a pro at running marathons. so with dennis dead set on finishing the marathon he gets help from his loyal friend gordan *dylan moran* and his land lord Mr. Ghoshdashtidar *Harish patel* and goes into training i have to say many of these scenes are fantastic!. It all comes down to the run but will dennis be able to do it or will he even make it? that i wont tell you because for those who have not yet seen it i dont want to spoil the ending.
I think if you are a fan of other simon pegg films this wont let you down its full of humor and heart warming moments but its also got some very funny bits in it to and even a little flash of a naked man haha! i wont spoil it for you.
Overall~ I loved it, it did what it was supposed to do and thats to make you laugh maybe not one of peggs better films but never the less a great comedy with a nice story line i say go buy it because it is a film you will watch again not only that ive been told you get some great extras on the dvd ( i just saw the film).
You can pick the dvd up for around £12-£16 depending on where you get it from, the cheapest tended to be amozon and play.com but the likes of woolowrths have pretty low prices at times it really depends on the store and weather they have a sales on or not. You can also pick it up from ebay the price will vary but most dvd's from ebay tend to go pretty cheap.
