La Bayadere was first performed in 1877 at The Bolshoi Theatre in St Petersburg, Russia.When it was first danced it consisted of a cast of many 100's of dancers plus a large cast of extras. It was a very spectacular affair and over the years it. has been edited down by a number of Large Ballet companies as they don't have the 100's of dancers in their companies like the Russians have.. Rudolph Nureyev edited it so he could include a more spectacular role for the male dancer so they are able to show off their fabulously controlled dancing and performing some spectacular jumps. Advantages: Easy to watch, attempts to be quite experimental for an American comedy
Disadvantages: The attempt fails, in my opinion, it remains a typical American comedy

...This film, which stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller and Gene Hackman, tells the story of a dysfunctional family, the Tenenbaums. Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) and his wife Etheline (Angelica Huston) had three child prodigies before they separated - Chas (Ben Stiller) an estate trader in his early teens, Richie (Luke Wilson) a champion tennis player and the adopted Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow) who writes successful plays at the age of 11. The action then fast forwards 22 years into the future: Chas has become a tortured widower obsessed with the death of his wife in a plane crash, Richie is no longer a tennis star and Margot is married to an old intellectual and seems really bored with her life. ...As you probably all know by now, Billy Elliot is the story of a young boy who joind a ballet class. Well, i'm just going to tell you a bit about the film, because too much information will spoil it if you decide to watch it. Billy Elliot (Jamie Bell) is an 11 year old boy who lives in Newcastle with his dad, older brother and grandmother. His mother died when he was younger. Billy's dad sends him to boxing class every week, whist at ine of his boxing lessons, Billy stumbles across a ballet class and starts to join in. He becomes good at it and every week instead of boxing he does ballet. His ballet teacher helps him to learn ballet and gets him an audition at the royal school of ballet.
