This is a DVD that I received for my Christmas; I have also been a huge fan of Chubby and his antics. Given the fact that this review can be read by anyone I will not be using any inappropriate language or reference to his stand up shows.
The main man himself
Chubby - Born "Royston Vasey" on February the 3rd 1945 at Grangetown in Middlesbrough, He left home at the age of 14 years of age, living rough and having many part time jobs, time where difficult for him. Previous jobs even include the royal navy. His first appearance on national television was way back in 1970 when he appeared in a show called New Faces; he came second on that particular episode. Roy then failed his audition on Opportunity knocks when he said the word a**e.
Roy chubby browns material is not shown on national television due to the nature of his jokes, songs and comments. I can only recall once there being a programme about Roy and that was on channel 4 a few years ago.
The DVD
Filmed live in our very own winter gardens in Blackpool with a live audience, this DVD is to celebrate 21yrs and 1000 performances at Blackpool. The stage is massive and the sound quality is fantastic, often when I watch any stand up comedy I am disappointed as the audience drown out the act. Well this is certainly not the case with this DVD. The room is packed with males and females from all walks of lives and you can really see they enjoyed watching the performance live.
Roy is dressed in his usual costume of Goggles and flying helmet, Multicoloured patch work trousers and jacket.
Starts the same way as most of his DVD do, a song from Chubby himself. It's a very offensive song and not for the faint hearted. Right from the beginning of the DVD Roy gets right in to things, he often refers to current media affairs. Audience beware, he picks on them and sometime I cringe as he rants away to them.
The DVD has a high about of sexual reference in and to be honest it's only for adults, Ladies beware he likes to discuss your "Lady Gardens" but as you can imagine he is not as polite as that. During the DVD he sings many songs and asks the audience to sign certain words. I think he does extremely well to get the audience joining in with his songs. All his jokes either have reference to sex, are racist or just far too rude to write about.
Chubby is someone you either love or hate. Now just because you like Chubby this does not been your racist. Please remember it's only an act and this is what he does for a job.
Extras
If after the 111 minutes you're looking or more then this is for you then.
Bonus material on this DVD include: Roy going about Blackpool, giving a running commentary. This is hilarious to say the least. I think I find this part as funny as I have been to Blackpool a few times and can relate to his comments.
Rude song- sex, drugs and many more comments which are too rude to mention are squashed into a song which is absolutely fantastic. He amazes me that he can change huge songs in to songs full of totally inappropriate words.

This has been a difficult review to do as Chubby uses language and the DVD has content which I can't write about. Thanks for reading Marcellep2 Ciao

I've had the pleaseure of seeing him in Stockport a few times many years ago. Given his act I am amazed he even tried to go on New Faces etc.

I've been to see him live twice over the years, once in Blackpool and again when he came to Glasgow. Both times were hilariously funny, you definitely will not want to get up midway through his show to go to the bathroom no matter how desperate you are...as my then fiance found out to his embarassment and my hoots of laughter!
