Advantages: Really stepping up from season 2 will great episodes Disadvantages: Not too many special features included
...I think that season 3 of Star Trek The Next Generation is where the show really came into its own and started to cast off the shadow left by the original series.
Season 3 has some terrific science fiction stories told with classic episodes like "Yesterday's Enterprise", "The Defector", "Best Of Both Worlds Part I" and "Sarek" which sees Mark Lenard return as Spocks father.
There are 26 episodes this season which last roughly 44 minutes each and for the current prices that these new Star Trek slimline boxsets are being sold for you cant really go wrong.
There seems to be a noticable difference in quality from season 2 to 3 with minor details being refined in set design and costumes. The music for the show, although not particularly memorable always seems to fit very well for the situations used.
This season also adds Guinan (Whoopi...

Advantages: It's Sci-Fi. It's Very Cheap. There are at least 3 more series to watch. Disadvantages: Once you watch this you will have to buy them all.
...If you are a sci-fi fan then you must own this.
This box set contains the pilot mini-series (about 3 hours) which sets the scene for the full 20-episode series, which is currently in it's 3rd season (at the time of this review).
The basic plot is similar to the original Battlestar series that was shown in the 80's, but with a far more realistic look and feel to it. I must admit that I was sceptical when I watched this pilot, but was very pleasantly surprised.
Just a word of warning though, if you are looking for another Star Trek type series where everything always turns out good in the end, then be prepared for a shock. This is a bleak and very dark series that follows humanity to the edge of extinction. It takes you places that science fiction series have very rarely travelled to.
In Summary: The new Battlestar Galactica series...

Advantages: Best programme on hand 24/7 Disadvantages: there is one
...This is a series that was shown on TV about 3 sisters who inherate magical powers. Pru, Piper and Phoebe don't really know each other that well in the beginning but as they live together in the family house they not only get to know each other but also learn their inherited powers.
If you like witch adventures then Charmed is for you. Unlike Practical Magic and The Craft, there is a stong storyline that continues throughout all 8 series. The main plot is that you need the power of 3 to banquish the demons wether this is to actually fight them or to plan how to fight them.
Things start get really going in series3 when the sisters have learnt their powers and their personal lives begin to get more involved in the story line.
Once you have brought this series you will want to buy all 8.
Each DVD has about 3 episodes on and you...
