I am guessing that this is the time of year when people are thinking about losing some weight and doing something about getting fitter? Traditionally it is as we get into the New Year that people join gyms and start diets.
Now I know it isn't always appreciated when people start to get smug about these things but I am pleased to be able to report that over the last year I have finally got control of my weight and fitness and I feel so much better for it.
You might be wondering where Rosemary Conley fits into this - well - early last year when I started thinking about getting fitter I bought a few fitness DVDs and a few dance DVDs. I had just bought Wii Fit and although I do love it I don't think it does very much for aerobic fitness and if I was getting fitter I wanted to be 'all round' fitter.
I found some of the DVDs too complex, some ineffective and I wasn't making much progress until someone at work suggested Rosemary Conley. I bought a couple of her DVDs and tried them out. I love the 'Brand New You' DVD better than all of the others in my collection.
It is the one I use day after day and it is the one that I credit with my new more shapely figure. What I especially like about this DVD is that it is broken into manageable segments lasting around 10 minutes each so you can choose which part of your body or fitness you want to work on and do those exercises. I do 20 minutes every morning before work and by sticking with it I can definitely see the difference.
The exercises are easy to follow and Rosemary works out with four other people (one of whom is Colleen Nolan). They all exercise at different levels so you can choose the level which suits you and work your way up to the more energetic levels over time. There are seven sections on the DVD
a 7 min Warm Up
a 10 min Fat Burning Aerobics (this is the one I do twice each morning)
a 10 min standing routine of aerobic training for Waist Hips and Thighs
a 10 min standing routine of aerobic training for abs and upper body
a 10 mins toning section for abs, hips and thighs on the floor
a 10 mins toning section for abs and upper body on the floor
a 5 mins cool down and stretch
To be fair my new healthier lifestyle does include a much more sensible eating regime which I embarked on to reduce my blood pressure (the DASH diet) which I further refined by three months on Weightwatchers online points plan but it is no good losing weight at my age unless you actually tone up at the same time. I can honestly say now that after nine months eating healthily, working out daily for 20 mnutes with this Rosemary Conley DVD and the Wii Fit I have virtually no cellulite - not bad for someone who plans to get her bus pass in the next twelve months!
Would I recommend it?
Yes I would. It worked for me and used in combination with sensible eating it has helped me to a more toned body and a slimmer outline. The routines are varied with a range of levels to choose from. I think I have certainly had my money's worth out of this DVD which is more than can be said for many of the others I bought. It is available on Amazon for £12.98.

Great to see you and the cuddly twosome here again! Adrianna swears by Davina McCall and her exercise video....I just swear at it....can't stand the woman, so Rosmery Conley's in there with a chance......or would be if working out wasn't against my religion of course........Richartd. xxx
