Rosemary and Thyme is a mystery drama which shows on ITV 1, currently at 4pm on weekdays (mon-fri). It is on for an hour, and each episode ends in the one hour (there are no 2 part episodes), and the story starts anew each day, meaning you don't have to watch it every day to know what is happening in the show, just tune in when you want to watch an episode and forget about it until you come across it again.
The show is about two female gardeners, Rosemary and Laura, in each episode they are employed to do the garden of some stately home, park, school etc. But wherever they go, trouble seems to follow them and murder seems to follow in their path, everywhere they are working, there is a murder, and normally a serial murder, Rosemary and Laura get on the case trying to figure out what might have happened, even though they're not detectives or anything to do with the police force, they always stick their noses in, and usually find out who murdered who, and why.
One of the episodes is where the gardeners are working in Regents Park, when they discover somebody is stealing their plants as they put them down. All of a sudden they're involved in a murder scene, when the body of a man is found shot in the head, and another is found the following day. Among getting two homeless people back into their marriage, and discovering why the strange nanny acted so strange, and finding out who was stealing their plants, they also must find out why Mr Vulcar and now Mr Allbright have been murdered. With the strange photographer, a 3-legged dog, and a lot of stolen flowers, will they discover who the murderer is and why they killed the two men?
All of these shows run along the same kind of storyline (of course not exactly the same!). If you like shows like Lewis and Midsomer Murders, then you'll love this just as much.
The only thing which annoys me about the show is that everywhere these women go to murders seem to happen, and always brutal and nasty murders, yet for 1, they are never questioned by the police even though these murders happen everywhere they work, and also, I have never found a dead body in my life, my mum, dad, brother, 3 sisters, husband, have never found a body which had been murdered before...so what is the likihood of these two women finding the bodies of hundreds of dead bodies over the course of their lives? Very unlikely of course, but then the same kind of thing can be said about all of these shows, like with Midsomer Murders, with the amount of deaths in that village there technically should be no people left living!
But all in all the show is very very good, and keeps you guessing all the way through!
Definitely worth a watch for all mystery drama fans! :)
Summary: Watch if you are a fan of Lewis and Midsomer Murders.
