Advantages: Great Baseball movie about following your dreams Disadvantages: Tad slow-moving in the middle where younger kids may squirm

But it's a fun movie although a tad bit too long (a full 2 hours). The part of the movie where he is in the minor leagues traveling on buses and staying at cheap motels dragged on a bit. So although it's G rated, it will not keep the attention of the under 5 set. But my 6 year old sat through it and very soon, we were at Arlington Stadium and his attention perked back up.
If you're looking for a family film that's halfway intelligently made, the Rookie is the ticket. If you're a baseball fan to boot -- you should watch it. It's a lot less hokey than Field of Dreams and a lot more inspirational and less dark than the Natural. The pitching scenes look real and the sound effects make it seem like the ball is popping in your glove. The nice camera work shows the nice touches like resin in the catchers glove.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT:
11 years after the release of the original, comes a sequel to 'The Lost Boys'. Chris and Nicole, a worryingly incestuous brother and sister, have moved to California to start a new life after the death of their parents. Unbeknown to them, a viscious brood of surfer vampires are killing at will, and when Nicole drinks their leader's blood, it's up to Chris to kick some vampire ass and save the day.
WAS IT ANY GOOD:
Over all, this film is average for those watching it without knowledge of the first, and weak for those who do.
The first thing I noticed was the over the top swearing - it was just too much, and left the firm impression that this film is trying to attract teenage boys. This theory is confirmed with the OTT bloody scenes of gore, which are typical teen-slasher movie fare.
