The story is nothing groundbreaking, but the car chases are, in my opinion something special. Robert DeNero stars along side Jean Reno in this fast paced thriller of deception. The plot revolves around a briefcase which everyone wants to get their hands on. The action takes place in Paris and several sides are involved leading to a lot of opportunities to have Audi's screaming after mercedes round narrow Paris sidestreets. And this is all fine, in fact it's a great deal of fun. Thanks to DVD I can jump straight to the chase scenes. But this has the side effect of making the rest of the film seem a bit slow. However, some great performances from Bobby and Jean (as always) and a pretty darn good film altogether.
The DVD is great. It looks and sounds spectacular (look and listen at the scene in the Paris tunnel) and the extras while sparse are good. We get a director's commentary and a mini documentary. It was interesting to hear that many of the actors were actually driving the cars to get the added look of terror on their faces.
Good film, nothing spectacular. Worth a rent for the car chase scenes alone
