The film is based on two feuding families the first is a Chinese family, who are set deep in tradition and history, headed by the cold-blooded Kai (Russell Wong) and the second is a Black American family, led by (Delroy Lindo) the deep down good-hearted Isaack O’Day, who are trapped in gangland style family war over control of the city’s precious waterfront land, the proposed site of a new stadium. For which much money is there to be made and at first the two families work in cooperation but this is short lived with the death of the youngest son, Po, of the Chinese family and soon to be followed by Colin the only son of the American family and naturally, the rival gang is blamed. And when Po’s brother Han (Jet Li) hears about it, why he is in prison he promptly breaks out of his Hong Kong prison using his deadly martial art skills and sets out to return to the US and avenge his brother’s murder.
The story borrows the famous Romeo name and does not really have anything to do with the famous story – but there are more than enough twists in the tale to keep you glued to the screen with all the characters being both absorbing and believable and very well defined. ACTING
Jet Li is a really big star when it comes to fans of martial arts movies like myself and like the matrix which is also made by the same people he brings that Eastern touch to the film with his fast and accurate fighting style and he is certainly very impressive in the film and for those who want to know when he was younger he was national champion for the people republic of china so his fighting skills are nothing short of the best and also in the acting department He is really intense and his co-star Aaliyah go well with the chemistry which makes the film perfect
SOUNDTRACK ---------------
The sound track in Romeo is well worth mentioning because it is damn good and has everything from hip hop and R ’n’ B to more traditional Chinese.
Aaliyah is widely known for her R ‘n’ B (heard in the film) and on the DVD version of the film she has several of her music video’s to the songs she made for this film but she is also known for her acting.
CONCLUSIONS ----------------
A damn good film with lots of acting and a first rate plot which is seamlessly acted out by the very good cast and all the effects are carried out with the same attention to detail as with the Matrix so I would recommend owning this film to all

Advantages: The fight scenes are an excellent showpiece for Jet Li's awesome talents Disadvantages: The poor plot and infrequent action land this firmly in the mediocre

Review of Romeo Must Die (DVD)
Advantages: Entertaining, clever visual effects, good performances. Disadvantages: Watch it, and enjoy it. But definitely don't expect anything from it.

Review of Romeo Must Die (DVD)
Advantages: good story/acting, excellent soundtrack, bursting with special features Disadvantages: *slight* predictability though not too much to put you off the movie itself. Game on PC enhancement not worth playing.
