Hi I am Alex and this is my review on Romeo Must Die. I got a copied version of this off of the Internet, from Yahoo Auctions. Unfortunately I found it unwatchable due to the bad picture and Japanese subtitles which could not be taken off. But luckily on Xmas 2001 I got it, the real English version and I was reasonably pleased with the purchase.
Jet Ali is Former Hong Kong cop Han Sing. And the lovely Aaliyah is the beautiful daughter who falls in love with Han sing.
Basically this film is a Gravity - Warping martial arts, cool visual effects and an all star music track combine in this revved-up action movie of Romeo and Juliet. Well that's what the box says, minus the Romeo & Juliet part.
This film is shares so much of its plot with Romeo & Juliet that you begin to think it is. There are two raging families and two star crossed lovers from each family stuck right in-between the action.
I will be truthful, once you have watched it once you probably won't watch it again. It is that sought of film. The action scenes of the film are very good but for me they just don't cut it. When comparing them to those of the Matrix they seem rather week and a bit tame. The actors and actresses play there roll perfectly but it's the story that lets the side down.
This film did not do very well at the box office because of lack of advertisement. I heard about it from my friend. It seemed to not even exist until it was released out on DVD.
The ending of the film lets it down also, I found it a bit weak.
I would suggest renting this film before buying it as you most likely will not watch this film very many times.
Special Features: 13 behind the scenes documentaries, 3 music videos, Interactive Menus Filmography's, 2 Theatrical Trailers, Scene Access, Language & Subtitles: English & French.
The special features are good especially the documentaries which I found very informative.
You may love this film, this is only my opinion, So the bottom line __ is to rent first. And try for sourself.
I did like this film but it just is not a classic.
Please put me on your C of Trust, if you believe I'm good enough. Please rate this review and leave a comment. Please read my other reviews. Thanks

Advantages: good story/acting, excellent soundtrack, bursting with special features Disadvantages: *slight* predictability though not too much to put you off the movie itself. Game on PC enhancement not worth playing.
