This is a musical film directed by martin scorsese and who are the rolling stones? The band consists of rock and roll legends mick jagger, keith richards, ronnie wood and charlie watts. the movie coincides with bands own release of their shine a light music dvd. Therefore most if not all of the songs contained on the compact disc are in the film at some point.
the film was staged in the beacon theatre in new york in two thousand and six. the rolling stones are holding a concert for former president bill clinton along with his wife are the stars main guests. There is some swearing and drug related references occasionally during the film.
my feelings on the music related movie was that the rolling stones gave the impression throughout that based on their method of performing was all too easy. Have no doubt, that I am sure the band could have made up any new song and made it sound interesting for people to listen to. The film contained many old songs from over the past forty years and this did not disappoint. the band produced great variety in their style of entertaining.
the band
had special guests during some of the songs. Christina aguilera was fantastic and jack white also very good. the band had a squadron of back stage vocal singers and this added naturally to the variation in the output of music worked very nicely indeed. Not all of the stone's big hits were featured, though there was a creative display of mixing the stone's rock and roll legendary songs, With song such as "faraway eyes" and also a jazz song here and there. keith richards also makes a solo singing on a track called "you got the silver". The acting at times of each of all the songs performed are strongly shown throughout in itself provides moments of rock and roll magic.
it showed some implicit natural form of personal disparity between mick jagger and keith richards. On one hand the flamboyant but controlled excellence of mick jagger. Jagger despite his age still has that great stage presence in his ability to entertain, produced a variety of stage moves, his singing is still strong and in his ability to entertain crowds. Keith by comparison, looking ever more frail, his voice more exhausted it appears at times, and less active and less looked after. It is fair to say that keith resembles ancient history. In the film however there are no signs of personal negative feelings towards each other.
the direction of the movie was almost sensational. during the first ten minutes of the film, it does appear to contain black and white scenes, and later on in the film scorsese makes a good job in bringing some of the old Television highlights of the rolling stone's history. This combination of dark and white contrasts well to the rest of the film. The stage setting of a relatively small venue is a unusual choice of film though it seemed to allow the moving camera's to flow to good effect in this film. Each performer is zoomed or focused upon via the camera's at different stages which adds class and great effects to the film. The movie is expertly carried out from a directive perspective, there is no over dramatising certain events based on a particular song performance by any of the cast.
the lights shine very bright pretty much throughout the movie and this moving and rotation of scenes is what makes this a near excellent movie. There was a good contrast of old and new tracks which helped. at the beginning of the film, martin scorsese is nervous about the film being shot at short notice and this provides a good start to the film. Archived clips from the past are shown, where the band are getting themselves known abroad by attending Television broadcasts globally. This goes to reflect slightly upon their up and coming stardom days. The key highlight was their relatively subdued answers on Television to the questions that were being asked regarding the band's future. The quality of the tracks and visual acting kept me entertained pretty much throughout the movie.
north of forty years later, there is an element of somewhat unrecognisable difference in there personal style, which I found great to watch. There were clips also showing keith and mick in trouble with the law for drug related offences at an early stage of their careers also helped provide added amusement. Though the modern time interviews suggestions regarding this matter slightly suggest that there is not much change in their personal lives. my only disappointing finding I felt, was that the end was a bit weak and dry.
overall I found this film nothing short of excellent. the cinematography scored highly I would rate this nine out of ten as the movie did move and flow well as there was about ten minutes of build up, and when the opening track begins, rock and roll fans are truly entertained. the cinema experience was amazing. I got the impression that I was in some way being at an amazing concert.

of course the film is currently been shown at the cinema. The cost of a cinema ticket is eight or nine Pounds to go and see the inflated priced stones movie. From the movies that I have seen so far this year, this really is one of the better stories. Watching this film at a cinema is good value compared to going to a live rolling stone's concert. their is plenty of energy and voltage in electricity here.
