Advantages: Family friendly, all inclusive, next to beach Disadvantages: Insects in rooms, no cash machine, not enough toilets
Last week I came back from a holiday in Greece. We went to Rhodes and stayed in the Rodos Village in Kiotari. The Rodos Village is a 5 star all-inclusive resort which is situated in the east west coast of the island.
We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel (this was a pre-paid transfer from our holiday provider) The taxi took around an hour to get to the hotel. Since our flight was overnight, we arrived at the airport at 4.45am, so it was great to hop into a taxi and get to the hotel quicker than the coach would have taken.
We got to the hotel at around 6am. There are not only steps up to the hotel, but also a ramp. It was quite steep but it meant that I could wheel my bag up instead of carrying up the steps (always good if you're tired!)
Check in was quick. No one was around at that time since it was so early, there was ...
Advantages: Great Setting, Close to Airport, First Class Food, Very Clean, Wonderful! Disadvantages: None that I can think of!
For those of you that don?t know I?m at University and one of the perks (along with student debt, economy food and lack of clean housing) is exams! How my mum can ever say she enjoyed them I really don?t know! Now I?ve spent the past 4 hours sat at a desk trying my hardest to concentrate but my brain just isn?t haven?t it and I?d say I?ve spent about 3 of those 4 hours daydreaming and remembering more fun times! So I?m going to tell you all about my heavenly summer holiday last year on the Greek Island of Kos ? just to remind myself how depressed revision actually makes me!
Last summer me and my boyfriend happened to find ourselves outside the First Choice Holiday Hypermarket in our home town ? totally by accident, it just happens to be located opposite our local Pizza Hut restaurant and we decided to have a wonder in. Fast forward ...
Advantages: breeze keeps you cool, you don't notice the intense heat Disadvantages: watch you don't burn, the wind is deceptive: use you sun cream more often. IT IS HOT in KOS
Did I say breeze? Do you know, I didn?t realize how strong the wind would be ? you know, the wind that blows throughout the summer months amongst the islands of the Dodecanese. As I write, I am sat out on the balcony of my apartment on the island of Kos. We have just berthed in the harbor at Kardamena and, today the wind is blowing fierce and strong. Unbelievably, fierce as the wind is, it caresses the skin like velvet ? despite its power! The sky is an intense baby blue, without so much as a hint of a cloud and the temperature is building as the morning progresses. Yesterday was an intense 32o C ? and I have great hopes that the temperatures today will match that with ease.
Yesterday we were moored off a beach near San Antonio. It wasn?t a harbor ? more a deep inlet set amongst volcanic rocks. The inlet?s waters were quite calm ...
