Robot Wars DVD

...This is a fantastic compilation of Robot Wars DVDs covering both competitor machines and the huge beasts that are the house robots. All the four DVDs in the boxset feature insights into the world of Robot Wars and how the competing robots are put together. The three competitor teams featured (of Razer, Chaos II and Hypnodisc) are all fantastic guys, who I've been fortunate enough to meet personally. They show just how much fun you can have building fighting machines. Each DVD is also packed full of fights from the Robot Wars TV series showing each robot in action. The House Robots DVD in this boxset gives a behind the scenes view of the special effects department of the BBC (which sadly no longer exists so its great to have a look back into the past). Advantages: clever spoofs and situational comedy
Disadvantages: no real disadvantages.

...This is a great follow up to the first series and definately worth buying for spaced fans. The DVD features the well known "METTLE" episode in which Tim and Mike enter robot wars and a very good episode called "change" with a very funny spoof of the film one flew over the cuckoos nest. The DVD features all the characters from the first series including Tims arch rival Duane Benzie returning from his unfortunate injury in the 1st series. and my favourite character Tyres O'Flaherty the bicycle courier/ raver who will dance to the simplest and most mundane sounds. This DVD is definately worth buying even if you havent seen any spaced episodes. Trust me it is definately worth it. A combination of clever spoofs from many aspects of pop culture and the clever dialogue and character relationships make this series a must buy for comedy... Read review

...The story is a spin off of the amazing cartoon series which is about a race of robots that are split into two over a huge civil war, the war is between the autobots (the gooddies) and the decipticons (the baddies). The DVD, once loaded, begins with a short showing about its history and how it began before you actually get to the main menu screen. The options are between the actual movie, artwork and an episode of transformers. the movie takes place on earth in 2006 and the autobots have fled their to have peace, they have learnt to disguise themselves into trucks and cars etc. The story is all about how a huge transformer called uncron tries to eat all the planets and its a battlew against him as well as the intense action of the civil war btween the two transformer sides. the art work feature is really impressive and i have... ...better functions than the previous one's. The old robots are sealed in the big containers and new robots are replaced instead. A great robot desinger was murdered and Del Spooner must find someone who murdered Dr. Lanning. So he finds a robot who didn't murder Dr. Lanning. The robot's name was Sonny. He was different as compared to other robots. He was much like a human rather than a robot. He could saw dreams and can do things which were not allowed to do for other robots. Dr. Susan the robots specialist tries to figure out how this happened, how can sonny be different from other robots and can do whatever he wants too. While figuring out what's happening a sudden change appears to all robots and they start behaving strange,becomming evil, not doing what they should do and forcing humans to stay at there homes. Advantages: great special effects and fantastic storyline.
Disadvantages: A bit confusing.
