Robot Chicken - Star Wars Episode 2
"Robot Chicken - Star Wars Episode 2" (like the original Robot Chicken - Star Wars is simply "COMEDY GENIUS" !!! Seth Green and the creative team behind this DVD have once again carefully selected many of the best characters, storylines and moments from the Star Wars movies and added a touch of Robot Chicken style originality to create another feast of fan fuelled fun that any fan of the Force will enjoy ...
What makes Robot Chicken sooooo watchable is the clever mix of visual styles ... using very simple animation techniques and action figures the team create something so simple [yet so impressive]. Add to this the talented cast of voice over performers and the result is a fast and very funny assault on the senses !!!
The humour is very similar to that of Family Guy ... which is hardly surprising as many of the cast and crew have also worked on Family Guy ...
A Few Highlights
The DVD is packed with scenes that Star Wars fans will love ... scenes such as a blood thirsty Boba Fett killing Ewoks whilst being seduced by Slave Girl Leia (a scene which it transpires is the dream of a Star Wars geek) is simply laugh out loud funny !!!
There is also a brilliant parody of the "these are not the droids you are looking for" scene from A New Hope ... where a Stormtrooper has taken his daughter to work for the day.
Sometimes the humour is very basic ... two AT-ATs racing each other across the snow during the Battle of Hoth being a prime example. But at times the humour is far more complex like the scene in which Jar Jar Binks appears in a TV ad for car insurance !!!
My personal favourite is the scene which parodies The Empire Strikes Back where Luke Skywalker refuses Darth Vader's offer to join the dark side. In the Robot Chicken version Luke Skywalker daydreams what a father/son relationship with Darth Vader really would be like and activities such as fishing, learning to ride a bike and discovering how to shave are explored. In Luke's vision there is even afather/son break dance contest against Jango Fett and his son Boba !!! "GENIUS"
The Extras
In addition to the episode "Robot Chicken - Star Wars Episode 2" the DVD is packed with extras.[like the first Robot Chicken - Star Wars DVD was] Once more, these include extra episodes of the regular Robot Chicken series, behind the scenes commentaries, trailers, documentaries and interviews with the cast and crew. All of which [in my opinion] are very watchable.
Summary
Robot Chicken - Star Wars Episode 2 is an awesome DVD. Originality and humour play an important role in the world of Robot Chicken and fans of either the Star Wars Saga or the Robot Chicken Series will not be disappointed. Whilst being a Star Wars fan helps in terms of understanding many of the references and in-jokes it is still very amusing even if your knowledge of Star Wars is limited.

Review of Robot Chicken - Star Wars Episode 2 (DVD)
Advantages: original, and very funny Disadvantages: none
...star wars spoof since spaceballs. Robot chicken is set out in various sketches, re enacting and adding their own twisted take on the star wras franchise. Only this time it is done through the form of stop motion animation. Robot chicken uses actual star wars figures to create their own twisted scenes, and the jokes are very original which makes this dvd very different from the rest. Have you ever wondered what happened to boba fett after he was eaten, ... ...joined forces? Well its all here and more. I found the comedy well scripted and hilariously funny, you will need to have a bit of knowledge about the story and characters involved or a lot of the jokes will go over your head. This dvd is recomended to any fan of the star wars franchise, or to anyone who likes original toilet humour style comedy. ...

DVD Description
The warped minds at Adult Swim's ROBOT CHICKEN once more take their demented sensibility to the holy grail of sci-fi epics, STAR WARS, in this hilarious special. As usual, a cast of celebrities lend their voices to the animated antics (even George Lucas gets in on the action), which include Emperor Palpatine confiding in his hairstylist, and plenty of surreal situations featuring Darth Vader, Lando Calrissian, and Boba Fett.
