Peter Weller stars as Lieutenant Murphy who works in Detroit. It’s 1991 and the city is thriving with cop-killers.. and of course… other crime. On Murphy’s first day out at his new job, he somehow manages to meet these men and gets his limbs shot off one by one, his partner who witnessed the shooting saw her new workmate gunned to the ground and as far as she was concerned… rest in peace Murphy.
The Police force is run privately by SCI, and they took Murphy’s mutilated body and began to turn him into a new breed of law enforcement called Robocop, half human and half cyborg. The scientists presume they have erased his memory and turn him out to the streets of Detroit to upload the law. So.. being the good Robocop, he goes out and he arrests a number of people and he turns into a hero overnight.
His ex-partner recognises tones of his voice and finally works out that Robocop is actually Murphy. The flashbacks begin, Robocop starts to remember what happened, and the killers, and sets out to enforce the law….
It’s a good kids flick I guess.
