Ah, Steven Seagal: The now fat, past his prime Aikido expert/invincible movie star, who critics loved to endlessly pick gripe with and fans at the very most could just about tolerate.
Seagal never actually looked anything like the trend of the typical '80s/'90s action star, which was set by the Schwarzeneggers and Stallones of the generation -- what, with his greasy pony tail, bloated figure and extravagant dress sense. Out For Justice, however, was a by-the-numbers action flick, with Seagal playing Gino Felino, a tough, incorruptible Brooklyn cop, who was out to avenge the death of his partner Bobby Lupo.
It's actually a solid little action movie in itself, which never tries to be anything more than what it is. The introduction has to be one of the most badass openings to an action film I've ever seen: Seagal spots a black PIMP ...
Advantages: Great cast, funny story, well approached Disadvantages: None really
great to watch. I didn't feel it dragged at any point, it had a good pace which made you keep watching with some twists and turns here and there just to keep you involved. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good old soppy film. Even my partner was loving it at the end, and said it was a very sweet film, so that's something as well! A lovely little romantic comedy film, well worth a watch.

Advantages: A decent performance from Thurman Disadvantages: It takes itself too seriously, losing laughs in the process.
Having just come through a messy divorce, Rafi relies on her analyst Lisa for help and advice. They are friends as well as doctor and patient. But Lisa's loyalties are sorely tested when Rafi starts dating David - a man fifteen years her junior, who also happens to be Lisa's son.
"Prime" feels like a very odd project for writer-director Ben Younger. He was last in charge of "Boiler Room", a tense story of young stockbrokers - the complete antithesis to a frothy romantic comedy. But the conflict is clear in his direction; he treats his comedy as seriously as his drama, sucking the laughs out of what should be a date movie romp. He lacks the requisite lightness of touch and the confidence to just throw jokes away, instead pondering them as if they were platonic theory. So he lingers and allows them to die slowly, without following them ...
