Robocop the original was a good film, a bit heavy on the body count, but nontheless a good film, with some good satire. Its violence was excusable. Robocop 2 cannot be excused. God himself could not redeem this awful film. Peter Weller and Nancy Allen reprise their roles from the original. They must have been paid well for it.
It centers around a drug- dealer and a new highly addictive drug called Nuke. Robocop as usual goes to stop the trade, but faces replacement by a new Robocop, with the brain of a manic maniac. Full stars to OCP for that decision. There is a particularly gruesome scene with the removed spine, brain and eyes of the madman. This new cyborg is utterly unbelievable, and a waste of the FX teams time. It is like ED-209, only worse. Awful, awful film. As usual, Robocop is smashed up, under the direction of young crimlord played by Gabriel Damon. Thats all you need to know. The rest is just blood, guns and violence.
This is a bad film, with none of the charm of its predecessor.
