DVD Description
A collection of tracks from Robert Palmer. Tracklist includes: 'Bad Case Of Loving You', 'Addicted To Love', 'Sweet Lies', 'I Didn't Mean To Turn You On', 'Get It On' and 'Some Like It Hot'.
Advantages: More than a companion piece to the first Addictions release, a richly diverse and satisfying collection of tracks Disadvantages: Still only covers up to the end of the 1980s, so nothing from his more recent albums is featured (no great loss, it has to be said)
...The intention was to release the second volume of Addictions 12 months after the first, but for whatever reason it didn't appear until early 1992. It came in the midst of a busy time for RobertPalmer in terms of recording output, with the 1990 double-album Don't Explain sandwiched between the pair of retrospective collections. None of those 18 songs made it onto Addictions 2, since he'd moved to EMI by then, and this was an Island label project.
It's far from a second-rate exercise, scratching around for leftovers to fill the space. Quite the opposite, in actual fact. There are 15 tracks this time, 2 more than on Addictions Vol.1, and just as many classic Palmer songs, though no massive hit single in the Addicted To Love mould.
In contrast to the first collection, virtually everything has been tinkered with and improved upon...

Advantages: A musical tour of a hugely overlooked and misunderstood talent, who has an ability to adapt a wide range of musical styles and influences into his work without it sounding at all hokey. The sleeve notes/interview are also extremely valuable. Disadvantages: Only tells half the story, and anything since 1988 is obviously not featured
...In the 1980s RobertPalmer was synonymous with stylish rock/pop, but also stigmatised by a perceived sexist attitude to women - largely due to his infamous video for Addicted To Love. The stereotyped image of the Brummie-born singer became that of the smooth, jet-set rock star surrounded by beautiful females, yet he'd been plying his trade since the early 70s, first with the less-than-glamourous Vinegar Joe (along with Elkie Brooks), and then as a solo artist.
Addictions Volume 1 - released in October 1989 - was the first of two retrospectives which, overseen by Palmer himself, sought to highlight the impressive variety in his work. 13 handpicked tracks - in several cases, retouched and re-recorded - covered his output for the Island record label between 1975 and 1988.
Though the title makes a play on his biggest hit, this CD is...

Advantages: smell, texture and v moisturising Disadvantages: a bit heavy to use every single day
...I am brand loyal, not strictly mind..i do like to go wild and try new things every now and again but i always come back to firm favourites and one of those being the palmer's cocoa butter formula with vitamin e.
The bottle is a simple white colour of 250ml's...with a sky blue label on the front with the palmer's orange tag and claims on the front to soften, smooth and relieve dry skin. The blurb at the back tells me it also helps smooth and blend unattractive marks and is an excellent after tanning butter..
wow so thats a lot of claims from one small white ordinary bottle but i can truly say it lives up to all those promises and more.. the actualy colour is a yellow-orange and the consistency is pretty thick like some hair conditioners can be but its also suprisingly light and absorbs into the skin in a matter of minutes. It smoothens...
